Hey brother, this is not exactly related but I was wondering if you or someone could help me.


I surf fish southern california, I just bought an 11 and a 12 ft rod for casting distance for help beds.

I have been losing my rigs because my weights have been snapping off .

I use combination of sputnik pyramid and torpedo depending on current and salad.

I throw 40lb j braid with a 30lb flouro leader.

I usually Palomar or san diego jammer.

I was wondering if you could offer me some advice or insights of why I may be losing so many weights.

Love your content. Add 50-100 feet of mono topshot above your wire. It will absorb the impact of the head shakes the shark is bending the hook with. Use FG knot to connect mono to your braid. It casts great and will slide through the rod guides. Your break off rate will also improve with that mono top shot
