Razer Orochi V2 – Worth the Hype?

its 2 times the price of a g305 in my country. $60 for the orochi v2 and $26 for the g305. Is it still worth the upgrade?

I wish someone mentioned that if you have a wireless internet connection working at 2.4ghz this mouse is completely going to kill it if you use rf dongle connection of the mouse. And even if you go for bluetooth, if there is some heavy-ish download/upload going on over wifi mouse is also going to be almost unuseable

Besides avoiding USB3.0 ports I've paid no regard to where I plug my 2.4ghz dongle for the Orochi, sometimes on side on laptop sometimes in back, sometimes on a usb extension thing which is mounted underneath my desk, is there really an effect in those increments?

Just personal experience but I've owned a lot of gaming gear over the years.....Logitech always outlasts Razer. Razer stuff doesnt age well and the longevity of their products is just not on par with Logitech

I'm considering this mouse. The big selling points for me are the size, it's compact and good for taking along with my gaming laptop. And it's got Bluetooth. That way I can leave my 2.4ghz dongle plugged in on my gaming laptop, but then swap over to my work laptop without worrying about the dongle. Plus Bluetooth is more power efficient so I won't be eating up batteries while working.

So really it's a mash of features that make this the front runner, portability, and versatility. Being able to take both AA and AAA is also a big bonus! I know you can get an adapter and run a AAA in the AA slot, but for me the weight is already pretty light, so I'll take the negligible extra weight for the extended battery life. But hey, if Alli can find are AAA this will have a slot for it.

And yeah, ultimately I'm getting this to game on the go with. Having great clickers that won't die on me, and having great performance and durability are important. If I were buying a mouse for my desktop at home I probably wouldn't even look at this. There are better mice for a dedicated desktop. Even if I'm plugging in my laptop at home, I would probably look for a larger mouse that's got better ergonomics, and more features. I actually really liked the Basilisk v3, the scroll wheel with the three settings is right up my alley. And the larger, more ergonomic size would suit me better I think. But on the go? Stashing in a bag? Ehh, not so much.

So yeah, I think the Orochi fits a very particular use case. I think it's the best for the portable gamer. And one who needs to work on the side. That so happens to suit my current needs well.

can you replace the 8khz switch to this mouse ?

Just bought this mouse coming from endgame xm1r / Hati S Wired and Wireless ACE editions / GPro Superlight / the new Pulsar Xlite v2 & v2 mini . I also have every new Zowie C series ZA11 12 13 S1 & 2 EC 1 2 3 (waiting to buy the FK series). Razer Viper Ultimate Wireless and Viper mini wired. I play Apex Warzone CS Battlefield. I would say I tend to switch mice depending on game. But this mouse guys, is just insane! Ive never ever experienced such an amazing first hand feel. I use a mix of fingertip / relaxed claw. I picked it up for 44 euroes on amazon! the 2.4g wireless latency feels as fast as the GPro Superlight! I cannot notice any difference, as of the G-wolves and pulsars its way more laggy feel. And the shape is legendary! clicks are amazing! only issue I have is the weight, as the AAA in the back messes up the weight distribution too much to make it worth the 7g difference. Using the AA and wish it was 10-15g lighter. The LOD is also a bit too heigh on lowest settings . Other than that its perfect for fingertip!

Just bought this today for my laptop for $28. I'm switching it to my desktop didn't expect to like it this much. my G703 is kinda double clicking ever so slightly. I should've bought two

Both G Pro Wireless and G305 started doubliclicking in a year. Extremely expensive, poor quality. Never Logitech again. Orochi is a fantastic thing for notebooks or even for desktops, but for the latter... there is Glorious. So no reason to buy a Logitech again... ever.

WAIT THE OROCHI IS LIGHTER THAN THE G PRO WIRELESS NO WAYY

Oh well, rocketjump ninja rates it below G305 which can be had brand new for about £20 with regular amazon deals. He has worse aim with his flick shots as the tracking is inconsistent when flicked fast. Not great if you like to play competitively online.

I love my G305 but the sidebuttons stopped working so i was looking for a new mouse

I also have the sort-of-similar smallish Corsiar Harpon. I like the Orochi V2 much more

The feet are identical to the viper ultimate maybe even smoother.

Companies like razer and logitech should sell mouse shells so you can try sizes at home

Must be nice to have 7ms of ping on apex, then i realized im happy with my 152ms. Cause that 7 looked really awkward to have sitting there

the battery life is not huge! it is poor as hell
i need to change the eneloop AAA battery every 5 or 7days. yes not even one week of battery life one a rechargable AAA battery
i try the 500hz puling rate, now on 100hz, it does not change the battery life, still one week at best

I have the Abyssus Essential now and am looking at this mouse to use both at home and on the go. At home I would use the dongle and while out and about I would use the bluetooth connection to my computer. Is the bluetooth connection noticably worse than the hyperspeed connection? I don't really play fps games.

honestly if the g305 wasnt a brick in weight I would really REALLY like it, i still do but the weight just ... not for me

If you have a smaller hand like me its def the best budget mouse out there g305 seems little odd to me after I used orochi few monhths

I wouldn't recommend this mouse. Like other razer mice the scroll wheel on this broke 6 months in. I've tried 3 razer mice and they've all had issues.
