Thank you , JESUS & my husband, for introducing me to Tim Keller, his wisdom and gift of communication, is now a valuable treasure in my life, and l pray, will be for, millions , that hear him now!
ОтветитьAre you pointing at me? Why are you Christian and not your non Christian friends and neighbors? What did you do that they didn't do?
ОтветитьWhat great insights regarding hope. I will be taking many notes listening to him again. I'm not Reformed but I greatly appreciate his intelligent presentations. I have never been disappointed listeneing to him. He was a great teacher. I find it shocking that other reformed pastors have attacked him, distorting what he was saying. Shame on them. The Reformed branch of Christianity lost it's greatest spokesmen. Even more so, he was one of best Christian pastors/teachers/authors of this present age.
ОтветитьI love HK AND HKNESE SO MUCH AND THEY ARE SO CUTE AND PRETTY AND EFFICIENT AND SMART AMD HARD WORKING
ОтветитьHK IS MY FAVORITE PLACE BECAUSE THE PEOPLE GIVE ME THE GOSPEL IN 1996
ОтветитьHKNESE is my favorite because they are the ones introducing the GOSPEL To me in 1996 one year before they return to PR CHINA
ОтветитьI am a Chinese Christian knowing what he’s talking about
ОтветитьHis teaching is similar to my husband’s… interesting!
ОтветитьFor anyone who is interested, I think the J.R.R. Tolkien quotes come from an article called “On Fairy Stories.”
ОтветитьTK at his finest 😚
ОтветитьThe attack comes in September. They're out of time.
ОтветитьRip Dr. Keller, God has used your life to touch many others. May this generation carry the torch well.
ОтветитьBetween the recently departed Dr. Tim Keller and the also departed Dr. R.C. Sproul those two men delivered to me the kindest, truest, most heartfelt and intellectually stimulating arguments and teachings on the universal condition in relation to the univeral Triune-God. Dr. Keller was the most effective theologian on the relational humanity side of the equation I've ever heard. Rest in Peace Tim Keller, if it is possible and still an attractive idea at the time I'll look for you in Glory to thank you for your work.
Ответить2 of my friends said" u can do everything right, and life still happens " what a relief to hear those words
ОтветитьIndeed we are here to serve others in need with the gifts and talent given by God. Don't sell out to Satan and the world and our own ego. Eternal life is more valuable and meaningful. We are not in this world for long. At most 150 if we were blessed.🙏✝️
ОтветитьI love how confident Keller can say 'i don't know' as much as the host pushed him. Indeed, Keller is a faithful man, he is Ok that he doesn't have the answer. Because God has ALL the answers. Thank you for Jesus 🙏✝️
ОтветитьThank you Dr. Keller for your great teachings !
ОтветитьWhy does he keep making killing yourself into a joke. This is the second sermon I've listened to of his where he and or others laugh about it.
ОтветитьFantastic talk and brilliant interview afterwards.
ОтветитьTim’s rationale tracks, if someone has desires for those of the same sex, there’s likely a consenting adult out there. ??
ОтветитьTim’s Next sermon here should be on god’s predestination of most to hell. And definitely do the q and a again.
ОтветитьA minister preaching of those living under some illusion? 😉
ОтветитьVery very well put Dr. Tim Keller on the reality of hope. I am better off after listening to this video.
A quick lesson too from the interview: moderation ain't that easy, I found the moderator focusing so much to get all the questions and he ended up making Tim Keller seem like he was answering the questions to himself. Eye contact during the interview is very key.
Thank you Dr. Keller. This was so helpful.
Ответитьit is LIFE itself. wethout God, we lose LIFE
John 1:4 In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.
Christianity seems a death nail to fighting climate change.
ОтветитьHope? That must be Jesus Christ definitely 😊😊😊
ОтветитьBeward of Tim Keller. He is dangerous
ОтветитьWhat an intelligent man of GOD!
ОтветитьThese sermons jus keep getting better
Ответить16 MINs in. NO! I achieved my hopes and dream life and it did nothing but make me very happy. The cars made me happy the nice house made me happy, no financial stress made me happy and being able to help others less fortunate made me happy. Being able to give to charity made me happy. Rising to the top of my field made me happy. All my prayers were answered and god blessed me,. Hard work? yes.
ОтветитьYou could spend your whole life looking for answers to life’s questions. Here Tim Keller give you the outline to save you much time and effort. These are the things that consumed 67 years of my life till now. Augustine, C. S. Lewis, J. R. Tolkien has it right about Eternity.
ОтветитьI agree
ОтветитьIn believing, you see. Oh, taste! And see that the Lord is Good! :-) Thanks for the reminder of hope in truth.
ОтветитьPlease note that this comment takes root in another lecture where the comments had been disabled; as such perhaps some of the material I cover is not germane to this video.
I like to listen to Tim Keller as a philosopher and a christian minister… he is going to present a well reasoned argument for belief in god….that only makes sense; if it were not the case that he could make an intellectually satisfying argument for the existence of God he himself would not be a minister….He could just as easily make money selling books that argue against god…..
BUT
Is the man a Christian? Can he present an actual account of Christianity?
I want to argue that he is not/cannot….he is a very capable apologist, but the key to Christianity is faith…
It is written For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.
In what sense does Mr Keller present faith?
This is the way in which he and most use the term.
Definition: and keep in mind I am arguing that this definition is utterly erroneous.
Faith:
(1) a belief normally having little or no evidence to support it / an opinion often formed by bios.
(2) aspect of a world view based partially on evidence which has been by reason projected to a conclusion beyond that evidently supported often in the existence of god.
(3) belief that also exhibits some degree of trust.
Ok that’s the way the world is using the term and many that are self identified as Christians also employ the term faith in a like fashion….Just ask a christian/small c like Mr. Keller if he wouldn’t mind defining the term…
In what sense is that a gift from God?
All men/people have beliefs we don’t need God to form them you are forming one right now as you read this comment.
So one can come to only one of two possible conclusions; either Faith as referred to by scripture is something different than the commonly held view, or scripture is ridicules.
If the first Mr. Keller has at best a partial grasp of Christianity after all grace through faith is the end game no faith no grace no salvation. Or Christianity no matter the quality of the argument this man of philosophy can present is bankrupt….
Either way I don’t think he can be a Christian.
All the same he may be though if so should defiantly not be a teacher.
So what is faith? How, if so, does it differ from belief and why are the two words often seemingly interchangeable in scripture?
Belief is one of the effects of faith so it is true to say that all those with faith believe but it is not true that all with belief have faith. The belief spoken of in Scripture if the context is taken into account will also present as something deeper….the best example I can give is the often misused statement (believe and confess and you will be saved)…in fact scripture says if you believe in your heart….which begs the question then what is meant by heart? Is it saying we really, really, really, believe? Cross my heart and hope to die? Again if so then scripture is ridicules, which I am very certain is not the case. The heart spoken of here is the core of the being, that aspect of a person underling even reason, the why a person might act in a way that reason would otherwise reject, both for good or bad, the spirit.
The interesting thing of that statement is its assuming a person is capable of holding such a belief at such a foundational level. To do so would demonstrate the presence/condition of faith.
It is also true of faith that trust in God ensues, but that trust is based in a personal knowledge of God, one can’t actually have trust of God without such a personal relationship. One could however trust in their own conclusions or opinions as often happens, and mistake that as a quality of faith while not actually experiencing faith.
Bottom line what is faith, what is this gift of God?
The second birth, the spiritual birth; that is what scripture is describing when it speaks of faith….
That is what Christianity is, a new life….lived through faith.
We all experience a physical world with physical rules, does and don’ts, colors, tastes, sounds, brought to us by our senses….faith, the gift God gives is a new life full of different sights, sounds, rules, and experiences.
Religion says come to god, believe, do your best, look at all that fruit.
Christianity says God calls and those that responded are raised, given new life, and a new nature, the same can never die as they are preserved in Christ. It’s not about behaviour it’s not about works…
It is written Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
If you have heard homosexuals are an abomination to God …that is a lie…the act is in that it hurts you the one God loves…..can you change is God asking, demanding that you do? ….NO….but in faith you will, possibly not fast, I am still in my sins but the difference in my sins and the world in theirs is; that mine are between a Father and son not a servant and court system…Mine are about love not rules.
I know that out there in the world are Mormons, or Muslims that are convinced they have experienced god at some level….it is fair to ask why then would those experiences not be just as valid? I can assure you that given the opportunity to make an argument nothing would persuade those of the conclusion they hold. As a Christian I understand the spiritual world is complex, not every spirit is of the light. They are all however convincing. When a person has had that experience they become sure in it just as those who never undergo such an experience can never be. That doesn’t mean all are of God. What has been gain is not faith it is conviction.
It is written Satan comes as a spirit of light…. We are warned to test every Spirit…not all do.
How up lifting at this time living through the corona virus when people we love are going in death and life seems hopeless thank you Tim you’re here for this time some of us need your deep Christianity thinking
ОтветитьI'm not a good listener, l can listen to u. Ex- Catholic, Born Again Christians. Our son who passed away, brought us to the Gospel Truth. 🇱🇧😰🇦🇺
ОтветитьWe are complete in the pit of darkness and the salvation of God’s love. The pits of darkness are our delusions of finding truth in false gods ,gods of pride, death and physical things. There is no light without darkness or God without evil. Try having just pure love and you will experience pure darkness and in the pits of darkness we experience true hope.
ОтветитьExcellent !
ОтветитьChar gave me a key... It's great symbolism! 😃🔑🔑🔑🔑🔑
ОтветитьNow we see dimly, but one day we will be face to face with Our Creator (His Hesed is present here on earth too).... I believe 💕LOVE RELATIONSHIPS LAST INTO ETERNITY.
ОтветитьI love Dr. Kellers clarity/description of love and how the disordering of love messes up Gods design...
So beautiful AND SO TRUE. Thank you😃
Wonderful message, however, the young people listening to this might not be able to relate nor absorb it the way an older person would; simply because this message of "nothing will really satisfy you" doesn't truly kick in until you've experienced life for a while. And when we're young we have plenty of energy, time and sometimes resources to fill our lives with entertainment and stuff that we don't really notice this dilemma.
ОтветитьHe gets better with age!
ОтветитьThis man presents Christianity in the most cogent, intellectually stimulating way I have ever heard.
ОтветитьOur Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is always exalted and glorified in the gospel-centered preaching of Dr. Tim Keller.
