2 Voyagers, My D-17 Bowie, 357, and My 1917 Cutlass in action/ carrying today. Keep up the great work brother ⚔️👍🤠
ОтветитьI like this one it could use thicker blade stock though.
ОтветитьThe name of that one sounds like my blood pressure pills. Lol
ОтветитьI'm carrying the Buck 251 Langford and the CRKT SPEW
ОтветитьKnots will do that at least it didn’t crack or chip and held an edge.
ОтветитьToo thin. No dice.
ОтветитьI could see the warp in the blade after the first few chops into that knot at the beginning of the video. I think the metal is too thin to absorb that kind of shock. But the edge didn't roll so it remained sharp. So probably a pretty good heat treat
ОтветитьSeemed to perform well. Bummer it bent a bit
ОтветитьLooks great and tough too for this blade ! 💪💪💪
ОтветитьIt seems that the blade thickness was too thin for the length of the blade. It is a shame because the design is so good. The heat treatment was good, so it may have only bent a little. Thanks again today for the good review Mr.Gruggs!
ОтветитьIt’s a slicer not a chopper, it looks like it would work well at food prep, some big game work maybe some skinning definitely self defense, just to thin for chopping.
ОтветитьYou didn't do anything that extreme for the blade to bend like that. I would not buy this knife.
ОтветитьIt really does suck that the edge bent, but I gotta give this knife props for holding up through the testing, you really gave that wood knot some work. I definitely had my reservations about D2 being grinded down that thin, but the testing doesn't lie. Even with a bend, that knife is a brutal chopper that will keep going even though it's built better for other tasks. I hope Kizer does their own tests to see where the blade can be improved.
Ответить😢😢😢😢😊😊😊
ОтветитьThat thinness is definitely not meant for hard dry wood. Would do great for soft tree limbs
ОтветитьA good example of why "I" buy knives from your channel! I've got only FIVE channels that I tune into for knife reviews, and your testing, is an excellent reason why I tune into yours Gruggs! Every knife I have, has been put thru the ringer and if it literally doesn't "cut" the mustard, it ain't comin' home!!! What you guys do is a service! A service that will not only save us money, but heaven forbid, something even more serious!!! My rant stops here... Thank you Gruggs! Great review...
ОтветитьYeah, too bad the knife only looks the part of a chopper. You didn’t go easy on it, at least it didn’t chip. I’ve seen this happen on a Victorinox Venture, which is also fairly thin for a bushcraft knife. Great test as always.
ОтветитьBent but not broke. Cool to see it was still sharp. Well done Gruggs.
ОтветитьGood vid. I had a feeling the steel was too thin. D2 is fickle. If it is done right its good, but its hard to get it perfect. In my honest option. Keeping in mind I am also a blade smith. If they had gone with 3/16th inch stalk and a saber grind, I think that it would have been solid for that test. It looks like an epic slicer. Take that blade though a set of Japanese water stones and it would cut space/time lol. Thank you for testing it out. Your test save alot of us money. It was your test vid on the EF 129 that made me make the call to buy it. So thank you again very much!
ОтветитьI picked one of these up .i really like it
ОтветитьBent a little or not definitely worth the price. Excellent video bud. 😊
ОтветитьThis review just saved me £110, think I'll get something else, many thanks.
ОтветитьGreat to see you put this knife through the rigors. While it can stand up to those hard use tasks there are better tools ideally. One knife doesn't need to do everything, same as an artist/ painter wouldn't use one brush. Great looking knife and price point, have a few Kizer knives they are quality.
ОтветитьBeautiful, effectively functional and cheap compared to many more famous peers I hope it will arrive soon
ОтветитьFor a $79 USD knife it would be a good choice for a light to medium duty knife for someone on a budget. For the everyday user it seems to meet the requirements.
ОтветитьDid Kizer ever send you a replacement? Would like to know if it’s just a one off or not. I really like the looks of this thing.
Kizer’s customer service has always been amazing for me. They sent me a new blade for a folding knife just because I got a slight edge roll on some 154CM when they thought I shouldn’t. Sight unseen.
The name, sounds like something the doctor would prescribe to cure a rash or something. LOL!
ОтветитьWell i think D2 was not good call here. I bet 14C28N or similar would be able to withstand this better with such a narrow geometry.
