Folks! No need to go and buy all these bottles at once. It's YOUR bar. Get a couple that you know you will use, and then slowly grab a couple more here and there, if you so choose. You don't need to break the bank! Time stamps in the description. Cheers! 🥃🤓🍹
ОтветитьTalks s*** about vodka but it's the biggest section in the liquor store
ОтветитьGreat advice. I live in a motorhome, so trying to keep the number of bottles to a minimum is desired -- but I am weak in a liquor store!
ОтветитьAs someone with sensory processing issues, your subtitles are greatly appreciated! Cheers!
ОтветитьThe moment you pulled out the Korbel I knew you were from Wisconsin. Hello from Madison!
ОтветитьI wish someone was selling the entire starter bar. It's crazy hard to pick bottle by bottle lol
ОтветитьSo is Campari used for Aperitif and the Ramazzotti as Digestif?
ОтветитьI’m more of a Mezcal and Tequila person, however I don’t always buy bottles, but when I do I buy them in Mexico. I love going for brands that are not sold in the US. 👌🏼
ОтветитьWould love to see a video on the next set of bottles -- such as Amaros, Lillet Blanc....these types of additives to a home bar. Which ones should a person get?
ОтветитьIt's so hard to find good teguila in Finland 😭Or if you wan't good one, you have pay yourself sick
ОтветитьSo I need to know everything about your hair care routine…
Ответить3 years ago, wow doesn’t time fly. I finally opened a bottle of Monkey Shoulder last week, just in a Whiskey and Ginger. It was superb and way nicer than JW Red Label. So thank you for that idea.
ОтветитьOlvidaste el pisco!
Ответитьty
ОтветитьMy dyslexia made me read the label on the vodka bottle as "made from onions and horses"
ОтветитьNO Monkey shoulder is not good Scotch
ОтветитьWhile I was watching the video
“Vermouth is definitely something you should have”
Followed by
“Now you’re ready to help people customize and save with Liberty Mutual”
😂
We’re awash in Korbel in Wisconsin, but I can’t find Maison Rouge anywhere. 😢
Ответить@AndersErickson I started exploring your channel recently and love the detailed explanation and demonstration. This essential spirits video and the follow-up budget video are so helpful in providing direction when staring at a wall of spirits at the store. Crazy idea: do you have corresponding recommendations for (moderate) spirit upgrades? I'd be willing to upgrade a few bottles based on what I like to drink, without going completely crazy on price and while keeping versatility.
ОтветитьLast word is one of my favs
ОтветитьGiven the increasing scarcity of Buffalo Trace these days, do you have a new go-to bourbon recommendation?
ОтветитьAlcohol is is expensive in Australia, I’d say you’d get by with about half of these:5 basic spirits(no brandy), bitters, triple sec and Campari. Even if I got the cheapest possible spirits the whole thing would cost about $500 and that’s without any juices or equipment.
ОтветитьDude please button your shirt. 🤣🤣
ОтветитьA great list. My gin choice is Monkey 47.
ОтветитьPisco besto brandy
ОтветитьI only just discovered your channel, and now I have cool new drinks to order when I go out! Thanks for the descriptions of the different liquors and liqueurs; helps a ton in understanding the nuances of each.
Ответитьwow,so cool
ОтветитьWild turkey 101 is a good easy to find swap for the Buffalo trace. It’s pretty hard to find where I am.
ОтветитьI really like you’re videos, but if you see this, could you make more mocktail videos? Being a minor and alcohol mixing doesn’t do well together
ОтветитьAs he says, I personally think if you are making a bar, going out and buying a ton of spirits is the wrong way to do it. Pick one or two spirits and get all the standard bar items (bitters, syrups assuming you are not making them yourself, etc.). You can make many different cocktails from one spirit and it keeps costs down. From there, once you want to branch out, get a bottle of another spirit. That is the biggest bang for your buck while still giving you a TON of room for experimenting. Use this as a guide for branching out rather than a "omg go out and buy all these now" kind of thing. A bottle of whiskey can make god knows how many different cocktails.
ОтветитьSad that i only just found your site! Really helpful and fun! nice one man.
Ответитьi have a small apartment and tight budget so i would probably go with 7 different spirits. i also learned a few things from this. maybe ill slowly build up my at home bar over the course of time. kinda done going to bars. also chartreuse is hard to find. i added this to my favorites
ОтветитьSailor Jerry is my rum.
Ответитьdark rum is not aged rum
for aged rum I recommend plantation 3 star
Not too shabby
ОтветитьI've watched this a couple times over the years. And not sure if you've done this video, but I'd love to see a tikibar essentials too
ОтветитьAppleton Estate is very delicious. My friends and I used to drink that alot back in he day.
ОтветитьSecond video viewed this morning and another fine job!
ОтветитьOn your video on Tom Collins you recommend Old Tom gin. I used to buy it here in California in a warehouse liquor store under the name off Boords. It is no longer available there. I have tried other stores, even a “boutique “ store and no one seems to carry Old Tom gin under any other name either. I tried adding a teaspoon of sugar to my regular gin but was not satisfied. Suggestions? Thanks .Tom
ОтветитьCuervo. Never ever. Nope.
ОтветитьLet me echo your statement that cheap tequila is a headache waiting to happen. The worst hangover of my life was after consuming a generous volume of José Cuervo. My face actually looked GREEN in the mirror the next day.
ОтветитьThere’s no beer on this list
ОтветитьHad campari in St Lucia horrible taste haha
ОтветитьIt's a sin using Mezcal for mixing. Should be enjoyed neat. No mix, no ice, naked. 😊
ОтветитьTry out Brugal, and Barcelo rums from D.R .
ОтветитьReturning to cocktails and I have a cabinet of old spirits, is there a general rule of when to toss them out and buy new?
ОтветитьI love ur hair! :)
ОтветитьOf the liquors I know anything about (which is only some of them), I agree with your choices.
Ответить
