They care much more about this than about quality writing / acting / directing - and they are destroying their own industry as a result.

Identity politics guarantee a bad movie. If the plot is: the protagonist is perfect and only the people around her are moulding her back, it kills any possibility of character development. If anyone puts this in the movie it is clear, that there is no interest in entertaining me, so there won't be lots effort put into the rest of the movie. I do not need the critical drinker to tell me that. It is just entertaining to listen to him. In fact it is more likely I'll go watch a movie at all these days thanks to him, because he says there is little to no identity politics included from time to time, so I give the movie a chance.

I listen to and watch CD because he is smarter than I am and understands logic more than I do. He helps me understand a plot, but I avoid watching him before I watch a film, Who needs to see spoilers? I often don't recognize that a film is bad until I go to CD. That means that I often just turn my brain off for a film.... because it is dumb and full of explosions just helping me chill. Then I watch CD and crack up..... at myself and my behaviors.

You know, i would be much more inclined to watch 2000 hours of The Critical Drinkers Content, rather than watching 2 minutes of the marvels. Critical Drinker is the best movie critic I have ever watched. He doesn't just say something is garbage with no evidence to back up his claim. He lays out exactly why he didn't like something or why something went wrong. He knows cinema, and he doesn't think his viewers are unintelligent. If YT does silence him and other critics, I would follow them to what ever platform, and pay if I had to, to watch them and hear what they have to say.

And how do they want to do that? I say bring it on because it becomes completely impossible to attack freedom of expression and speech because it is a human right.

I knew Rings of Power sucked massively. Critical Drinker just did a good job of delineating the specifics of why. It's also like blaming Sideways for Cats bombing. Why? I just watched Fallout based on what The Critical Drinker had reported and he was right it was a great watch and I didn't waste my time. If you create a good product it will speak for itself.
