THERE is a sense of sadness in Letterkenny following the death of talented musician Ted Ponsonby.
Ted passed away yesterday (Wednesday).
A son of Molly and Terry, he was a member of the Ponsonby family from Old Town, Letterkenny who are well known for their musical talents.
Ted was married to Marylin and was a father of one, Sarah.
Ted and Sarah teamed up during lockdown to record ‘Brakin’ Trad’, a collection of mainly self-penned songs.
He was a founding member of The Rascals during the 1970’s, and he was widely known throughout the country for his talents on the guitar, song-writing and producing.
Delores is one of a kind with her beautiful natural Galway accent which will never be equalled.. I love all her songs especially Galway Bay. It puts goosebumps all over me. I am a Galwegian living in Clare, & have requested that Galway Bay by Delores & Johnny Faulkner be played as my remains are removed from the church and My soul to soar forever more Above you Galway Bay
ОтветитьBeautiful low tones. Rare for a woman singer these days. A pure delight.
ОтветитьDolores is the best
ОтветитьWonderfull voice Just love listening to Dolores
ОтветитьGreatest music in the world.
Ответить👌💕
ОтветитьShe is a wonderful singer......at her gradam win she sang ... don’t know if it was live or not as she had not been well. But I could listen to her for ever. Pity her career stopped so soon. I read that Emmy Lou Harris said she was one of the best singers she ever performed with!! Her lovely Galway accent adds to her singing and her ready smile and twinkling eyes a joy to behold. I’d love to hear her entire family do an album together ❤
ОтветитьThe female voice of Ireland, period.
Ответитьnice job on the vocals but why the need to change the lyrics of such a wonderful song..
ОтветитьNobody can come near to Dolores absolutely hauntingly beautiful
ОтветитьSonny, don't go away, but pleaze, pretty please, keep THAT Dolores closer!
ОтветитьSo beautiful
ОтветитьPerfect diction.☺
ОтветитьWho is the men on backing vocals?
ОтветитьMy father played traditional music for many years so I would have plenty of experience of live music in pubs and so on. For some reason every time I hear Ted's verse it brings me back to being beside the speakers watching the band play. So much so I can even smell the beer smell from the bar! Wonderful song.
ОтветитьMaybe some of the new breed of female vocalists should take a listen to this….no frills, pure God given vocals. Wonderful.
ОтветитьAnyone know who sings the 3rd verse? The guy in the glasses?
ОтветитьLegend
ОтветитьToo slow
ОтветитьSonny seems as if it was written for Dolores Keane to sing. above all.
ОтветитьWho wrote this? And how dare they? It is utterly lovely! Delicious, fine, good and kind!
ОтветитьBeautiful & this is all apay from Talent Shows 🌿💯🌿
ОтветитьLove this 💗
ОтветитьA very nice song that man with the ponytail sings beautifully well done
ОтветитьBeautiful
ОтветитьWonderful voice. The version with Emmylou Harris and Mary Black is good too, but I wanted to hear Dolores' version alone, but she is accompanied.
ОтветитьWas she away from John Faulkner when this was preformed?
ОтветитьWhat a voice, every time I listen to Dolores Keane, I can't help but compare other singers who perform the same song. Her voice is deeeep and very
explicit. Love her voice! Not that other singers are inferior but hers has something that really rings the bell!
Beautiful song and I love how you smile as you sbreak in song you are a beautiful singer
ОтветитьTotally love her beautiful smile!
Ответитьgreat rendition until that guy with the specs starts to sing....his yawping is bloody awful!...what were they thinking?
Ответитьwho is male back up singer with ponytail? I love his voice.

Ответитьbeautiful red hair love her voice.
ОтветитьHow good is this. Terrific.
ОтветитьWho said pretty girls can't sing?..........This will change your mind my friend, and the dudes did well too!
ОтветитьLove this song and the singer. During breaks I listen to Dolores whenever I get a chance. The best of the best.
ОтветитьNever heard this version before. Stirring! Superb!
ОтветитьA haunting sound just love her singing...
ОтветитьLove Dolores ...
ОтветитьNon si può interrompere la voce di Dolores ...fatela cantare sola🤤
ОтветитьWhat a great voice beautiful
ОтветитьI love this woman singing. The enjoyment she is getting by always breaking into a smile when she can hear how good it sounds and it is all gelling nicely. I was the same many years ago when I sang and played in a band. When it all came together, I would be grinning from ear to ear. Sometimes smiling so much I could not sing some words and had to miss them. Hek, I'd even laugh or giggle halfway through a song and have to stop. The sounds of the instruments and in tune vocals hitting my ears just overwhelmed me. Dolores is one woman I have always wanted to sing alongside, for the past near 30 years. Alas, a man can dream on I suppose.
ОтветитьWho is the young male singer withe the glasses
ОтветитьWonderful song by the late Canadian songwriter Ron Hynes. Lovely rendition too.
ОтветитьJust superb.
ОтветитьIf you don't adore Dolores Keane......you're already DEAD
ОтветитьDolores, you legend
