My shoes for the Camino del Norte 2023: Salomon XA Pro 3D V8 Wide GTX

Those are great shoes. So are the X Ultra.

Do you like to wear membrane on Camino ? Aren’t most days dry and your legs end up sweating ,which equals blisters. And the 10 days it rains, it’s mostly showers, also they get wet in long rain anyway and dry horribly long compared to normal shoes. It’s like wearing heavy hiking boots because you are going to pass couple km of rough terrain , extremely strange approach to me, I’ve seen results of such choice and it was disastrous. But I do love membrane on a 1 day hike that is true. ( hiked Camino Madrid , part of Camino france and other trails and now going Norte in a couple of days)
Btw, funnily enough I hate that lace system and find the fancier shoe soles (continental and other crap )too stiff for longer hikes. Also I can’t help to wonder how the hell you walk in such warm shoes ? They literally have no mesh at least which one is not fake.

But obviously if you are happy who am I to judge , just proves there is no single answer to this problem.
