Back here bc it REALLY hurts my soul to hear my mother call The Feast of Dionysus, The Last Supper😮💨
Ответитьthe whole zagreus and dionysus being considered the same god, and being associated with rebirth is just SOOOO fascinating to me ough
Ответитьstg i need a playlist of the songs u use in ur vids. some of them would make great edit audios
ОтветитьI now understand why in Hades, Orpheus is so easily fooled about Dionysus and Zagreus being the same god… mind blown, excellent video
ОтветитьDionysius: "hmmm... society"
Ответить“I bet Frigg doesn’t have to deal with this.” No, she doesn’t. I’m so sorry Hera 😬
ОтветитьHow? How did she manage to make Dionysus the cute one??
ОтветитьThere has been a recent hot theory that the frenzied flame of Elden Ring is based on Dionysus. Thank you for the deep dive, it has been particularly helpful!
ОтветитьI have the belife he still has horns like the Bachea, but they only show when he is tapping into his anchient powers, kinda like a rage mode lol
ОтветитьConsidering that Dionysus was, in later versions of the story, said to be youthful and effeminate, it’s safe to call him a femboy.
ОтветитьAh yes, my favorite god of ancient times. The god of good vibes and bad hangovers.
ОтветитьAlternate theory for the death and rebirth theme: It makes sense for the god of wine to also represent death and rebirth for anyone who has spent a day recovering from a REALLY bad hangover :p
(This was a joke, don't @me internet)
The god of insanity also being a god of theatre makes perfect sense; this is coming from a theater kid, for the record.
ОтветитьI often interpret changes in gods and their myths as analogies for real world socio-political philosophical movements. So perhaps Dionysus' change from an angry cthonic insanity god worshipped by marginalized groups to an olympian wine party god could represent changes in socio-political power and hence changes in philosophy of the dionysus worshippers.
ОтветитьBacchae video when?
ОтветитьHere to study up after watching the first two episodes of kaos from Netflix.
Curious what your thoughts are going to be.
Who's here after the Paris Olympics? Personally, I discovered this channel because of The Journey West and Black Myth Wukong.
ОтветитьZagreus's (and Melinoe's) parentage is confusing, since one of Hades's epithets is "The Zeus of the Underworld"/"The Underworld Zeus"...
ОтветитьMy work uses that song at the end for when we close
Ответить"Oh, just a little war between the Greeks and the Trojans... nothing too Epic~"
ОтветитьBeen watching Koas lately with my mum and Dionysius is one of the main characters and I rememberd this video exitsed!!
ОтветитьI have a friend who is throwing a Dionysus themed party. I'm watching this video to know how to get in the theme
ОтветитьI greatly dislike the fact this was made 6 years ago because I remember when this was released and I cannot stand for that amount of time passing
ОтветитьI think its amazing how “chill cool party guy” Dionysus and “angry scary mad man” Dionysus are kinda like showing how wine can affect people
You could either be singing karaoke with the homies or beating your wife and stuff
Peisistratus’ inclusion of Dionysus is the origin of the term “getting peised”
ОтветитьI watched the first season of Kaos and decided to watch this and didn't expect it to be so interesting. I hope the second season isn't cancelled by Netflix to see how these connections dionysius has will tie into it
ОтветитьImmediate reaction to reading the post scene notes; the singing was a delightful homage that related wonderfully to this content as well as to the various times I've heard this song heralding the close to a scene of so much merriment.
ОтветитьYou SHOULD probably just make the Bacchae its own video hahahahaba... if ya havent already 🤪
ОтветитьMr. D be having a whole new character arc.
Ответитьstill waiting on the BACCHAE
ОтветитьLoved and subscribed. If you haven’t read The Immortality Key, get ready to rethink all of this again.
ОтветитьKrishna !
ОтветитьDespite dionysus being depicted as a god of wine, he is, in essence, still the god of madness that was his original form.
ОтветитьWhy are we trying to get thru this as quickly as possible?
ОтветитьMake norse creation myth hindu creation myth Celtic creation myth
ОтветитьWhy is no one talking about the Prince of Egypt music in the background?!
ОтветитьThis hilariously frustrating as someone who just learned the history of wine from an American society and now suddenly the a Greek Dorian Grey is the creator of wine. .. that's crazy.
