ОтветитьRivian's GAAP losses per quarter are massive and show no signs of ending. The VW deal and gov't loans from crooked Joe will add more debt and interest expense. With these recurring quarterly losses, don't see how Rivian avoids bankruptcy. Here's Rivian's latest quarterly losses; which clearly shows $100k/loss per vehicle; not the $30k gross nonsense Rivian puts out:
1Q23 - $1.3 bill
2Q23 - $1.2 bill
3Q23 - $1.4 bill
4Q23 - $1.5 bill (full year '23 loss: $5.4 bill)
1Q24 - $1.4 bill
2Q24 - $1.5 bill
3Q24- $1.1 bill loss vs 10,018 vehicles sold... $109.8k loss per vehicle sold

ОтветитьCanada requires all of us to switch to EV by 2035 and hybrid by 2030. From 2030 on ,no dealer can sell gas running cars. There are close to 40millions of us here so at least 20 millions will have to look buying EV/hybrid . The government are giving out incentives. when we bought ours last yrs we got 8000CAD rebates from the government.

Legacy auto dealers are a nightmare for legacy auto makers. They gouged customers trying to buy electric vehicles.
Legacy auto dealers abused their customers by adding market price adjustments to gouge their customers for EVs
They added pricey add ons and other costs to pump up the prices and their profits.
Tesla has the right idea. Buy online. No hassle. No sitting in a show room for hours. No salesman BS. No crazy markups.
No I have to see my manager BS. With Tesla you can buy a vehicle in 5 minutes or less online. The dealers have no one to blame but themselves. The dealers are dragging the legacy auto makers down with them. The problem with legacy auto makers having slow sales leads back to the legacy auto dealers. They try to talk people out of buying and EV an want to put them in a gasoline car. Many people hate going to legacy car dealerships. Many people call them stealer ships for a reason. New car, used car or going in for repairs you always walk out feeling cheated. People have no sympathy for dealers.
It's extremely disappointing to see how many people are willing to give their hard-earned money to a petty, overt racist.

Not sure he understands the successful EVs have way better production methods. EV adoption in the US is slowest because of misinformation by Legacy Auto and Fossil Fuel companies.

ОтветитьWould love to have seen a report from people like this a century ago when those horseless carriages were starting to catch on, yet they still it was not nothing a niche market and all were predicting their doom. And they faced a thousand fold tougher challenges than EV's today.
And we live in the the NYC area and we see Lucid's all the time. In fact, we just saw one today, as well as three Rivians. What is this lady doing, driving in the back of a limo with dark windows and dark sunglasses on? Or looking at her cell phone constantly while she drives?

Ответить1.3 million EVs is roughly one month of Chinese NEV sales. November & December 2024 saw 1.2 million NEVs sold in China, full year 2024 was over 12 million NEVs. If you sell 10x as many things, economy of scale will drive down unit costs and prices due to volume manufacturing efficiency.

ОтветитьThe real conversation should be the complete destruction of the legacy automakers outside their home markets by Chinese EV companies. Tariffs are the only thing keeping the old brands afloat at this point. Why buy an Equinox for 35k when you can get a better Chinese EV for roughly half that?
