My wife lost the left airpod (3rd gen). I bought a replacement online and it says that it is not mine. So it works, but says that the owner (?) can track me. Also can’t use Find app. Did this same thing on the video and nothing changes… any tip?

This method works for some people, for me when I reset the AirPods Pro it will say AirPods setup incomplete with an error saying some parts mismatch even though It’s not mismatch, then it will not let me use the Find My Network feature which lets you track each part separately for example if you forgot the charging case it will ring a sound from the speaker of the AirPods Pro 2nd Gen

How does this work for buying used individual L&R buds or battery case? Or can I replace & pair individually?

Is the Find My tied to battery case & not the individual buds as far as ICloud sees it?

You can link them to your phn this way but iCloud is not bypassed so that’s not true… original owner can still track them

So i got those from a friend resetted them connected them forgot device connected them again then i looked in icloud my devices didnt show up ( on find my it did) and also i looked on my friends find my it was still on his find my but i didnt get to see if it was the last time

Can’t reset them either.

They’re are connected to my old Apple ID and I have no clue what the id is.

it doesn't work, I have a not original chase of the airpods because the old owner tell me the old owner told me it broke. I did the same method, it changed the name but it still tells me they are not my airpods. How can I do?

I’ve been having connectivity issues with my 1st Gen AirPods for years. Still have them and still have issues. Sometimes they work fine, other times I my phone connects to them, but I can’t hear anything. For example: I’ll answer a call on my phone. While the call is in progress, I’ll open my Air Pod 1st Gen case, place a bud in an ear and NOTHING. I’ll check my call audio source and it indicates I’m on Air Pod and still NOTHING. I try switching back and forth between iPhone and or speaker and those work fine. I’ll switch back to AirPids as my audio source and NOTHING! Tried resetting them and when I hold the buttons for 15 or more seconds, the light goes from flashing white to flashing orange (not red) and then back to flashing white. I get the Air Pods “connect” screen pop up. No longer says “G’s AirPods”. But once I connect, it goes back to G’s AirPods without me changing the name manually.

Does this sound right? They are working fine right now, just curious to know if it going back to flashing white after amber is correct.

even you did the reset ,,, lol open the find my app and you will see that the airpods are still traceable 😂 and you cant use find my app never . until the the owner remove it from his phone

the reset will make the airpods new again but it will not pypass the icloud of the owner . if you dnt believe me open find my app after the reset and the connect then see that you are not allowed to trace them and you will get a msg says mismatch its not your airpods
