Everything about this show is good, except for his girlfriend/fiance, Evelyn (Karine Vanasse). The whole time that things are unraveling I'm sitting there thinking he should just forget her and move on.

She has no personality or endearing qualities, she's overly emotional, erratic, insecure, a cheater, and extremely passive-aggressive. She's not into marriage, not into having the baby, and it feels like all of the happiness of the relationship really hinges on her desires only, having a career in music. Not once does she show any appreciation for all the hard work and sacrifice he is making, for her, for the family. It really makes the entire premise of the show less believable.

Every aspect of her character fits the image of the typical modern Western woman, which is not a good fit for any man, child, or family.

Maybe this is by design, I'm not sure. I'm only 2.5 episodes in.
