I wish they would've saved enough money to get another older vet like Lowry to help mentor the youngr players and be that extra coach on the floor/bench come playoff time. But this contract might have some additional benefit down the road in trade talks in addition to Hart being a solid center.

So by your own words and stats, he is the best defender in the league, the best passer on the team, the second-best offensive rebounder in the league, has insane efficiency, and an elite floater. And then you say he will come off the bench. Damn, this poor guy is literally a unicorn with a combination of different skills in which he is the best or among the best in the league, and that's not enough to shed the "bench" player tag he got because the rest of the teams misused him. What else do we need to consider him a starting player?

I hope they let him shoot the 3 Ball. He has that potential.

OKC about to dissapoint a lot of people this year. They were better off being underrated.

Chet will start at the 4 and the twin towers will be imposible to score on in the paint. Chet on the perimeter will be ridiculous. Top 3 defensive team next year again.

As an OKC fan, knowing how good our 2012 team was, I still maintain that this current team is the best team we ever had.

Is it a team option final year or a non guaranteed year. It can’t possibly matter

Hartenstein has had such a wild career already. A lot of teams must be kicking themselves for giving up on him or being too cheap. Houston waived him as he didn't fit their small-ball experiment (remember when House and Tucker were their "big men"), Denver traded him for JaVale McGee. In Cleveland he declined his player option as the Cavs drafted Mobley and the Clippers didn't have enough money to resign Hartenstein because of the freakin' John Wall deal....

Sam Presti traded away Sengun and Lively and that's why they had this massive hole in their roster that needed to be filled and was on full display against Dallas. I have no idea why he got rid of those two guys, specifically Sengun who averaged 21/9/5 last year and is absolutely capable of being an all star. You put Sengun on that OKC team last year they probably win it all. I don't see how anybody could have beat them with him out there along with a team that finished #1 in the West. Both are better players than Hartenstein.

I‘m kinda hyped by how the offseason played out so far for our Thunder but remain skeptical.
We were healthy the whole last season and Josh’s playmaking needs to be replaced also.

If we stay healthy, we should be the team to beat.

I'm (primarily) a Knicks fan, but my second & third favorite teams are Spurs & Thunder (Wemby my favorite young player, and Presti my favorite GM).

I'll be watching next year to see how this experiment pans out for OKC & Hartenstein.

But I won't be too worried about Boston Celtics, if I were the Thunder. I'd focus on the top teams in the WEST. The only way OKC/BOS could face off in the playoffs, if BOTH teams makes the NBA Finals. Not all that likely, imo.

Does this move make OKC the favorites to come out of the West? 🤔
