What a superb collection! I cannot imagine the effort, miles and time it took to assemble this video. As an audio engineer I know how many thing are outside your control when trying to shoot videos like this. Quite the best I have ever listened to. Thank you so much!

What a beautiful cacophony of locos, sadly my sound is coming through headphones and I'm missing the thump to the chest of that hard-working beat that comes from an uphill travelling train.

Who knew you could get, what is essentially a kettle on wheels, to be so AWESOME!

The wistles in the UK are so high pitched and cheerful, here in the states its a hallow moan... it sounds like the damn woods are haunted when they go through.

oh so many memerious brought back i was born and bred in kendal then westmoreland many a time i sat on oxenholme station platforms and watched these might beasts thunder through some stopped to be banked by a tank engine to get them over shap the low line split at oxenholme that went down to windermere the high line as we called it went up to scotland used to watch the midday scot thunder through oh the nostalga

Kinda weird to think that these are essentially one stroke engines given they have a power stroke when the piston moves forward and backwards.
