I've seen about 15 of these hehe! :-) I personally couldn't stand 'Bad Boy Bubby' at the time I saw it and thought it was utter garbage and barely matchable. Whether I'd still feel the same now if I saw it, who knows? I'd like to add 2 great recommendations to this list and that is the brilliant Peter Jackson zombie classic 'Brain Dead'. You can also add 'Bad Taste' and 'Meet The Feebles' as I think all 3 of his first features are genre classics. I also recommend 'The Reef' which I thought was a particularly well done shark movie and definitely stands head and fin above all the other shark movies out there.
I love your channel, Em, and I'm so happy to have been a fan of your content for the last 4 years or so if not more?! :D
Keep up the great work as always
Would beautiful kate be a thriller or drama?
ОтветитьI love Razorback ,one of my favorites when i was a kid and I still love it,great video btw !!
ОтветитьThe loved ones ended up being really good.
Snowtown messed me up, I had to recover after watching it Knowing all that stuff really happened. The case is even more disturbing than the film but I think out of respect they didn’t want to cross those boundaries.
Long Weekend is such a masterpiece! Also, I love cheesy low budget film Road Kill (or Road Train) - really underrated
ОтветитьThe cell phone video in Lake Mungo is one of the most haunting and chilling scenes I've seen in a horror movie in years.
The Nightingale didn't feel like a movie. It felt like I was looking back in time at the worst humanity has to offer.
I really liked razorback
ОтветитьPolice rescue. I still remember the episode when a guy was stuck under a fallen building and they could not get him out. Scary real life horror.
ОтветитьI’m so happy Wyrmwood cut the list as it’s def my top 10 zombie movies I terms of how fun and bizarre it gets!
ОтветитьHaven't seen many Australian horror films, but I love Long Weekend so it was nice to see that one get a mention. Also a big fan of Lake Mungo and Next Of Kin. Saw Picnic At Hanging Rock and loved its dreamy atmosphere, but found it a bit slow and a little "2deep4me" unfortunately. The documentary Not Quite Hollywood: The Wild, Untold Story of Ozploitation! talked about a whole whackload of interesting looking films, so there's lots from there that I'm looking forward to checking out as well
ОтветитьI love that some of my all time favorite movies are on this list.
ОтветитьLola is a legendary character. Watch The Loved Ones if you haven't!
ОтветитьWhat happened in 1825?!
ОтветитьI’m always sad when nobody mentions Black Water 😭
ОтветитьThe remake of Long Weekend is pretty good, but, Jim Caviezel is playing the most annoying person on the planet. no matter what he does, no matter what he says, it is annoying AF. "We gonna have some fun today, at all costs...." this describes him in 1 sentence.
Wolf Creek, the original, and all sequels (!) are amazing, even the series with episodes that are movie-length doesn't disappoint at any point.
As a kid I watched Fortress. I was 11 years old then. It is a forgotten gem.
ОтветитьI love that you included some Aussie classics like Long weekend, Patrick, Wake in fright and Razorback.
ОтветитьAustralia had a burgeoning film industry in the early part of the 20th century that sadly died off for reasons I am not sure of. I've heard there were some good horror flix in that era that are now all but forgotten. Do you or any fans know the titles of these films?
ОтветитьThe loved ones is a classic!!!
ОтветитьI urge everyone to watch The Loved Ones
ОтветитьWyrmwood
ОтветитьDead Calm holds a place on my heart. I remember watching this late at night when I was about 10. Nostalgia
ОтветитьI know New Zealand isn't Australia, but, Fresh Meat is a great comedy horror from NZ. If you haven't already, check it out.
Ответить@spookyastronauts. Have u seen next of kin (1982). And the wicked -aka outback vampires (1987)
ОтветитьHighly recommend The nightingale
ОтветитьWolf Creek and Cargo was filmed on our Families Properties!
Ответить"Wake In Fright" is one of my favorite movies ever, and definitely my favorite Australian movie. I am also strangely fond of "Death In Brunswick" & "Welcome To Woop Woop," but that's another story...
ОтветитьThe stranger is another banger that has come out of the aus
ОтветитьI saw Picnic at Hanging Rock as a young kid and was terrified of that movie. I just learned that a young John Jarratt aka Mick Taylor (Glad to meet ya!) is in it!
Ответитьno Coming Home In The Dark?
ОтветитьCargo was truly heartbreaking but a great movie and amazing casts too. Have you seen anything of the movies from Chris Sun. He is brutal but damn good movies also. As always Thank you Emma for a great list of movies 👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьHow did I miss this video??!?1? I’ve actually seen 7 of these! For such nice people, you Aussies make the most BRUTAL films 😵💫. That was fair dinkum a noice list of lesser-knowns for us bogans, cobber. Cheers! 🇦🇺
ОтветитьI watched storm warning from 2007 last night and came for more austrian horrors!
ОтветитьI loved Rogue.
ОтветитьDo Australians know that The Babadook is an LGBTQ icon in the USA and how that happened? Netflix mistakenly listed it under LGBTQ movies when they started listing The Babadook, even though it doesn’t have anything to do with queer issues. We queer people gleefully adopted the Babadook and you can now see his top-hatted design on Pride flags.
Ответить21. Chopper (2000) lol.
Ответить22. Black Water (2005).
ОтветитьStorm Warning from 2007 is good "fun" quite brutal in parts, has a similar tone to The Loved Ones and the bloke who plays the father (John Brumpton) has a similar role.
Dying Breed (2008) also a decent film, Nathan Phillips who played Ben Mitchell in Wolf Creek is in that.
Australian Movies are the BEST HANDS DOWN!!! We need more more more! Absolutely love the Horror.
"Wake in Fright" has to be one of the greatest Mind Fk movies ever!!! Lake Mungo, IFYKYK!!!!!
The significance of 1825?
ОтветитьI auditioned for the lead role of Snowtown haha my mate got it instead. They approached us randomly at the elizabeth shopping centre in the food court
ОтветитьCan’t stand the Muriel’s wedding chic! What’s here name? She has a big ego apparently...🤦♂️🤮🤡
ОтветитьI tuned out while watching Killing Ground. It just did nothing interesting or special, imo.
ОтветитьI can't get thru Wolf Creek a 2nd time. I was covering my eyes for the last 20 minutes. Ick.
ОтветитьThe Babadook: lmfao at this line: "You're hungry? Why don't you eat SHIT?!" 😂😂😂😂😂
Ответитьwe need Wendigoon to react to some of these aussie horror media
ОтветитьBlack Water is brilliant
ОтветитьRogue holds such a special place for Territorians, scared the shit out of me when I was young
Ответить🤘Hey Friends! I have decided to put my list in the comments since your support was so overwhelming the last time I did it. For those unaware the reason I don’t usually do this because it stops people from watching the whole video, and so it hurts my video in the algorithm…
👽So if you do enjoy me leaving the lists for you in the comments make sure to help the video by watching all the way through, commenting if you feel like it, and giving it a thumbs up! All that stuff really does help and it will also mean lists will be in the comments in the future!🤘🤘🤘
