"This is your end, Dark." She said, her sword against your neck. She was trying to be brave, but you easily saw through it. You could tell by how her hand was shaking, how she kept glancing behind her at the other officers, and how her voice rang with uncertainty that she couldn't do it. It was honestly quite amusing to watch, even with your hands bound tightly behind your back and your eyelids getting heavier with the second. You had lost a lot of blood, and you were only a few minutes away from unconsciousness. But nobody knew that, and you were just waiting for the signal anyways.

"Hey, look at me." She said again, pushing the blade further. You lean your head back, a weak attempt to get away.
"Why, why did you do this...? Was it really just for some stupid revenge?!" She asked. A new harshness in her voice.
"You hurt everyone! And, and for what?-"
You burst out into uncontrollable laughter, tears threatened to fall and a genuine smile overtook you. It was such a stupid question, but you had been waiting for someone to ask you that for years.

"You call it revenge," You coughed, you didn't have much longer. Her face was immediately plastered with worry, which took you by surprise. She started scanning you for injuries, and her gaze stopped right above your hip. You looked down and saw blood starting to seep through your shirt. You thought you were actually losing it, why would the hero care for you? "...I call it returning the favour, darling." When you look back up, you see how her face fills with confusion. She looks like she was hit by a brick. Something wasn't adding up.

"Just do it already, hero. Don't fall for their stupid attempt at trickery. You are on our side, right?" One of the officers chipped in. Her eyes widened; but since she was facing you, none of the others seemed to notice her surprise.

"What?..." She whispered, only loud enough for the both of you to hear. "What do you mean by that?-"
Before she could say anything else, the door behind her bust open with a large explosion, and you squint your eyes to shield them from the debris. The chair you were tied to was almost knocked over by the force. One by one, the remaining officers all fell to the ground. The hero had flown into the wall with the explosion, but they didn't seem hurt. You sighed tiredly as you easily broke out of your restraints and stood up, rubbing your wrists and limping out of there.

"W-wait!-" She tried to sit up.

"Bye bye, little hero....be safe. If I were you, I would not get involved in this fight anymore. What they did does not concern you."

"But!- H-hey, don't just walk away!"

You walked out of the room to see the place in shambles. Fire danced everywhere, the light made your eyes look as if they were glowing. You put a weak arm up to block the sharp light that rained down on you. Your right-hand man ran up to you. His eyes flickered from the increasing red on your shirt to the marks from the handcuffs on your wrists. He raises an eyebrow while eyeing you up and down, taking a step closer to you.

"A**holes..." He muttered, "Let me help-"

"I can walk." You grunted stubbornly, "We're done here. What's the situation?" He sighed audibly. He slides a hand around your waist anyway, ignoring the deadly glare you shot in his direction.

"Our men are on it, those two are burning evidence and taking anything of worth. Now, can we please get you some medical help?"

"I'm fine..." You replied, ignoring his response and worried scolding. As you both walked back, you look up at the sky, it was tainted blood red with the beginning of dawn. You had finally returned the favour, but it wasn't even close to being over. You always had a habit of giving more than you got anyways.

My nail tapped on the hilt of my sword the sound echoing in the empty castle. I breathed in the air savoring this peacful moment. I walked through the tail oak doors toward the crowd of people below me. Their cheers vibrating through the hall, little the knew everything was gonna change.
" Listen" my voice was loud and strong sounding. " I understand that all of you came here to listen to the heros but...." I glared at everyone one of them, then a small smile sprouted on my face as I raised my chin. " I know you all think everything is done, that their is peace in the world. But its not."
As soon as those words spilled from my lips chaos broke loose. The shadows wrapped around the crowd killing them off by one by one. Their screams pleased the monster as it stirred in my heart.
