tolkien once described maeglin as having swarthy skin. people of colour canonically exist in arda. having a more racially diverse cast doesn’t and shouldn’t take away from the story you are portraying/adapting, that’s dependent on the writing. character descriptions are vague enough that you can interpret a lot from them. also, lord of the rings isn’t “platforming”, political messages are inherent in the text (environmentalism/industrialisation)

This is usually in the case of settings where a once great empire is on the rocks. Bright being the exception where they seemed to rip-off Shadowrun where the Orcs latched onto any fringe group with a distinct mode of dress like Italian mobsters, punk rockers, bikers, glam rockers or whatever. But Bright did it poorly and didn't diversify their wardrobe and that's on them.
