I never really struggled with getting my kickflips higher but bro this is a goldmine for newer skaters right here. Best kickflip trick tip video ever made
ОтветитьGreat video. Good as a loveletter!
ОтветитьWow, this was the video I needed like 20 years ago. The third step, has always been my problem. I'm slightly bowe legged so my knee always goes naturally off to the side instead of forward. I'm on and off. I'll have a day where my kickflips look solid, and then bam...rocket flips. It's like when you start shanking in Golf.
Ответитьthis is really good
ОтветитьRealy well observed and realy well explained,If i could have Had your advice 30 years ago then ... Thanx vor your expert eye
ОтветитьDude. tysm
ОтветитьThat part about the knee really was really informative. I'm in the stage of correcting my rocketed kickflips and noticed I have a better chance of leveling out my board if I lead with the knee.
ОтветитьI cant flick my front foot (im goofy) i have almost zero ankle movement its fuckin hard to flick almost impossible i really cant
ОтветитьI wish people would say how lizard king waits for his tail to be completely off the ground before he flicks I thinks that's been my problem I've been thinking popping was just popping never realized that I gotta wait for the board to be completely off the ground tail and all
ОтветитьI've been known to rip through just about any shoe in a few days because I love doing kickflips 😁 I'm talking, skating for 6+ hours, each day, and doing lots of KFs or KF variations (backside flips, half-cab flips, etc) throughout the day. I've learned and advanced my kickflip over the years and would consider mine to be an early 3rd stage Kickflip out of 4 stages.
I set my flips up with my leading foot's toes putting pressure down along the center point of the rotational axis and with the big toe pressing over the line, medialward and when I pop, I slide up and away from the board, directing all that pressure along the center of the board, towards the point on the edge of the board where the side and tip of the board, meet - with that method of pressure and flick, it's almost certain that I land a KF first try without warming up my flick leg. I have done the off the tip of the nose KF over flat gaps, before, too. If I'm doing a frontside kickflip on mini..well, I'm still figuring out if I should kick, downward in the flick box or kick, through the nose. Both ways have worked, one is tighter and the other, get's you more, hangtime and allows for gaping, further, horizontally.
You unlocked it! When you said lead with your knee I got what I was doing. You saved my kickflips bro. Skate on🛹
Ответитьthanks man, I still didnt practice a single kickflip since I started skating (a year ago) and your tips makes me want to finally start learning them. Speaking as a 28yo dude, this is really helpful and encouraging
Ответить❤
ОтветитьAmazing video!! Excellent detailed walkthrough of these critical movements with the kick flip. Thank you for this I’ll be watching this many times and implementing these streps into my own learning process.🙏
ОтветитьHey man, using this video and others i have managed to find a foot placement that works for me and can bring the kickflip up to just above my knees and i can tell it looks pretty. BUT I JUST CAN"T CATCH THE DAMN THING!! I can land most small kickflips and land on the board as it hits the ground. Any extra tips on catching with your back foot at the peak of the height?
ОтветитьAmazing content .. instantly subbed.. i tried this today at my local and was flipping more flat
ОтветитьA good tip that I got for flicking a bit later is to flick when I hear the pop and flick straight this helped a lot for me
ОтветитьThis was soooo enlightening. Sure could have used this insight about 20 years ago lol.
Ответитьamusing that you used that clip of Rodney Mullen as an example of doing kickflips badly :-)
ОтветитьThis one video literally took my kickflips from rocketing to popping them onto ledges and ninja kicking shit
Ответитьbest skateboard teacher ever
ОтветитьThank you Joe
ОтветитьMontrose skate park Colindale London
ОтветитьAlright 🐸🍺🔪🔥
ОтветитьExactly the channel I need to help me progress my fingerboarding.
ОтветитьAmazing metaphor. Completely true. Im not pro but I have "pro" kickflips..... Thats basically all I have... Anyways... Very accurate video.
ОтветитьOne thing I've noticed is they all land behind the trajectory where they pop (eg they all end up jumping and landing backward toward their heel side). My natural ollie trajectory is toward my toe side. I think it's worth noting and trying to practice.
ОтветитьMan wtf, you just save my kickflips "diretamente do brasil, vlw manow🎉"😊
ОтветитьThis was super helpful. Are you in So. Utah?
ОтветитьI ride goofy and when i kickflip my right arm just goes behind my back , if anyone could help me thay would awesome
ОтветитьI appreciate Joe’s commentary here. Everything he said is true. But left out ankle importance. Malto’s switch flip is a perfect picture of loading up the ankle before the flick. It increases the flick pressures without opening the hip and shoulders. That’s how he can flick almost straight forward and still get a nice flip. By loading the ankle I mean rolling the side an even some of the upper foot into the board as it lifts, then unwinding it as the flick.
ОтветитьI practice doing them fakie/ pretend that I am doing it fakie forces you to lead with you’re knee
ОтветитьBack skating after 7 years away and all I've done the times I've been out is practice kickflips. They were my worst trick in my previous 13 years of skating but I've forgotten so much that I feel now is the perfect time to relearn the right way. Thanks for the tips!
ОтветитьOne of the most beautiful and clear video about PRO kickflip, love the Strike Spot theory, gg <3
ОтветитьSkated for 10 years, now it's been about 10 years since I was skating everyday. Never really had kickflips on lock like other tricks, but I watched this and honestly landed one of the highest and cleanliest kickflips I've ever done. Solid advice.
ОтветитьPanic flicking…that’s me
ОтветитьКрутое видео! Жаль я по английски не понимаю....
ОтветитьThanks bro
ОтветитьMy board just stays glued to my foot and shoots off to the side where I tried to flick it.. looks like a solid Ollie
But no matter how hard I “flick” my ankle or leg my board won’t get tf off my foot.. sorry but it’s frustrating
as soon as cold let me , ill try that. im getting back from an 8 years pause, so the body is still getting used to the tricks
ОтветитьHonestly Thebes best video ever on point with every little detail, this should make kickfliping into stuff a lot easier 👏
ОтветитьI always come back to this video, so informational
ОтветитьThats solid analysis dude!!
ОтветитьI could have gone pro if you put this video out 10 years ago 😂
Ответитьthey have better kickflips because i have a budget ass job to go to.
ОтветитьReason number one, they're professionals lol
Ответитьit’s because they are athletic…
