Well, every statement carries a message, doesn’t it? I don’t think he really needs to send any messages to the club internally though, and certainly not via the media. That was a message to an external audience, IMO.

Think Eddie made good point’s unfair if things have changed and disrespectful Mitchell spoke highly of Eddie but needs to collaboration after all Eddie is the coach etc he should have a say.

Its the same old conflict, who has the final say on player recruitment. If i am the Manager it has to be me, my job is on the line for results.

The England job will guarantee him 4-6 years I’d say whereas the Newcastle job will be 3 month increments! I’m not sure what he will do…

Some of the media have twisted what he said and some have lied completely. Whats obvious is he wasn't completely clear and has for some reason put pressure on the board and told everyone it depends on them and what they do. I can't imagine the owners taking threats very well at all especially ones made to the press. I know what he said but im less convinced he will stay after the interviews. It could of been very simple to quash the speculation but in a purposeful way he has paved the way for it to continue, it looks like he has got a foot in both camps which begs the question why would our owners back him in the transfer market if he isn't fully committed, the next manager may not want the players he wants. This season looks like a possible car crash before its even begun.

Definitely picked up the same vibes. In particular, when he spoke about Tonali, he seemed like he was holding back from saying something.

We are in the same boat as everyone not named Man U and Villa in that we are so far behind in this window. I think we will suffer short term harm for long term gain by ditching Ashworth. Mitchell hasnt had time to do much of his own work.

Totally agree. He looked almost frustrated or aggravated by something. Possibly the Anderson going thing or the re-shuffle etc causing a few teething problems as Bunce and Mitchell will want Eddie to train them a certain way ie injuries etc

Howe might be thinking of leaving before he gets sacked but who knows…perhaps he’s not confident of getting top 6 next season.

he has spit the dummy out with the 2 appointments of mitchell & bunce, means he has`nt got total control over transfers and training will be revised to stop injuries, saying that wilson is injured again and that is one of howe`s problems too sentimental to certain players that he wants to keep, but they need moving on for us to progress further, just dont see it happening, also giving ultimatum to the club will not sit well with the saudi`s especially when there is better managers out there like edin terzic

Hi Chris, I think the only subliminal message is one made up by the written press. Interesting that the video interviews are quite clear but the written press is open to interpretation. I would like to believe he is professional enough to deal direct with the NUFC hierarchy and not use the press to get a message across. Behind the scenes they will be thrashing out how things will work and we will probably never hear about it. As for his spark, several interviews one after the other asking about your future will take the spark away from anyone. Great video, keep up the good work 👍

Am a Howe fan 💯…but….all very well stamping yer feet and saying what yee feel…but PIF are the pay masters so if Howe….embrace change it’s part of football ⚽️ at elite level…you can’t embrace change then PIF will decide not you! It's nothing new at nufc, rember when kk was here & decisions were made without him being involved. Which ultimately led to his departure. We *have to start recruiting yesterday. As after this season, if Eddie doesn't get things right, the maj, inc me, will be calling for his head. Watch this space....

He's never questioned publicly his fellow club management team before so that was very strange. I think there must be a problem for him to feel the need to do that rather than keep it in house. I really hope he stays but if England asks I don't think he'll say no.

I don't like the media saying he was sending a "warning". He was stating, he is happy the way it is. Pretty much clearing up the current noise surrounding the England job. The ball is in Eddie's court anyway, wanted by many and loved by most of our own fans. I'm certain he'll remain the toon gaffer and it's going to be a stellar season . HWTL❤🔥

There's a section of Newcastle fans who claim Howe has his favourites who are un dropable.
They never tell you there was no one fit to take their place.
At times, only 14 fit outfield players and fans claiming "Howe favourites"
You'll hear he dropped points by picking favourites.
How many points would he have dropped by playing players before they were ready and getting them injured again?
