My absolute favorite song of 1985. Great vocals with a kick ass guitar solo. Lyrics that MEAN SOMETHING! Thanks Night Ranger!
ОтветитьThis song brings back so many fond memories. Reminds me of being a kid and dying to grow up and be on my own. Now all these years later, both parents having recently passed away, I would give ANYTHING to go back for just one day and be with them again, riding in the car with this song playing on the radio. Appreciate what you have at the time you have it because nothing lasts forever and you will miss it when it’s gone. Love you mom! ❤
ОтветитьCarol Miller doing the intro. (Used to have a crush on her). She's still, "Getting the Led Out" on WAXQ (104.3) and was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame last year.
ОтветитьBadass

ОтветитьSummer of ‘85… I was 20. Living on my own for the first time 1000 miles away from home in Texas. My last Summer of true youth before I met my future wife a year later.

ОтветитьSaw them live in the early 2000's. It was a free concert for the Pro Football HOF Weekend. No seating. Everyone stood. Parents brought their children. Some in strollers. We all stood in unison as 1980's kids singing every song like we did as young kids. It was the greatest concert I ever attended.
ОтветитьThey went back in time to 1943 and flew missions over Germany. The plane was shot down and they were lost.
ОтветитьOne my best group grow up in the 80
ОтветитьGuess when the satellites in the sky control the chips in our brain well drill out the forests in america for oil and mine for lithium in the south americas forever and drill coal as well as co2 will be hardened into coal again to make it forest true and an infinite source and well spiral the population out of control so we can mine on other planets and war for their rights , the Middle East will be the show for the princes as men everywhere will sleep with robots as the elite 666 sex traffic our kids and for their amusement the total recall will occur with those they dont like as kids get sex changes if the elite dont like them, and the media will lie away to save the day as the moon is for the rich and twisted evil as the working class bust ass to house them on the moon and on all the planets in space and of course Bill Gates will get us grinding stainless steel amtrack doors to keep the tracks being laid and someday all the nuclear plants the princes build will have split so many atoms the fabric of the planet earth will collapse and the rods of waste will poison the water and air as the good guys grasp for air , hell it will be on earth as the decendents of the evil storytellers of the Roman Empire will jettison off to space and watch us fight and labor, and all as they show no remorse, what a disgrace , butte alas with brilliance we caught the Roman Catholics lie and decided let’s dew eye for an eye , and the good guys won in the end as the colors finally blend and martin Luther king got his way as the police led this beautiful execution of the simple folks way and the mouths that hurt our days with words of stupids thoughts , they found solitary in mines and solitary confinement and entertaining and clowning for the good guys , don’t think it will happen as we right the ship for the first time ever , wanna bet? Have fun Middle East rulers and 7000 princes as you learn to build the pyramids and take them down and repeat 7, with eternal life you’ll be the Jews friends for the first time and I know why ya hate em, cause their brilliantly clever , Your friend Willard Wray and Michael Knutty with Lea Engeldinger , Jelly Frankie, And Maddie Bobo and all my Olivia’s , live holy my good people and good friends Diane and Daryl and of course mom and Bro Dave and Carol and little Emma and Mary that got me this far with a very little car and the love of a beer and a bar with girls to motivate me from afar!

ОтветитьI was deep in the jungles of central america when this came out. I remember listening to this album wondering if I ever would get home to see this band. Dreaming of driving my convertable GTO and being back on the block with my friends. I made it home in 1985, I will never forget those times of shame and glory.
