Niwaki is a underrated bonsai method, but nevertheless a most impressive one. Thanks bro for this video. Greetings from another tree crazy dude.

When should you start training the trunk? (Or, at what age/height of the small tree/seedling?). Should I do this to a 5 year old, 16-24” high, seedling? Or, wait until it grows a little bigger? Thanks.

Will the initial bend and the bend back the other direction grow with the tree, meaning will it increase in height? I’ve seen pines in Japan that have the classic “S” shape that are 70’ tall. Do they let the first “bend” grow for 15 years before training to go back the other direction? Same question for acer palmatums.

So informative! Thank you so much for not click-bating us just to sell a book or tutorial. It’s appreciated more than you know.
