Book Sub Unboxing: BOTM, Aardvark, Page One, Grayworlf Press & Republic Of Consciousness

I've always wondered about Page One and I'm feeling....underwhelmed. That note! 😄 And the yellowed secondhand copy!? It looks like they are thrifting and up selling.

The ROC and Graywolf subs look intriguing and I can't wait to read the Liz Moore. This was fun to watch!

Suzanne, I was cracking up when you read the shady note from Page One Books. 🙈 I'm sorry about the $6 book they sent you with yellow pages! 😤 I would just cancel their subscription right now bc who knows what they will end up sending you next? Also, I didn't know you use to live in Chi. Town 🌇 .. that's where I'm from, but far from Evanston! I did read A Novel 📖 Love ♥️ Story and loved it! I actually have all of Ashley Poston's books and enjoyed her debut The Dead Romantics and her last book The Seven Year Slip as well! 🤗

I would be mad about the $6 sticker as well, but on the bright side I have heard very good things about that author and that book. It was on my radar for last year, but I never got around to reading it. Emily Henry has turned me into an occasional romance reader as well. I'll be interested to hear what you think of Ashley Poston. I read The Dead Romantics and liked it, but didn't love it. Do you think that in the future you might do a literary journey with sci fi or fantasy books? I would be interested in joining you on one of those.

The Night The River Wept sounds so good! I remember how much you enjoyed your past Page One unboxings and the quality of their books. I am just beside myself that they are not what they used to be and that they would do this to their subscribers.

I subscribed to Page 1 years ago and I can see from this video how their quality has declined immensely. That note is ridiculous 😂 and they should be embarrassed to send you a book that is yellowing and has stickers on it. Such a shame that they have declined. You look great for almost 50! Enjoy your 50’s because they fly by! I just turned 60 this year and I don’t know how! 😂😂😂😂 Happy reading!!

I hope you complain to Page 1 books about the quality of the book & items you got this month. that was totally unacceptable.
I picked t=The god of the Woods, Middle of the Night & House of Glass from BOTM this month. Since joining BOTM back in 2019 I have definitely seen my genres change. I normally would read mostly fantasy & historical fiction with other fiction mixed in but I wouldn't touch romance. Now I am all over the board and reading different genres including romance and I am finding I actually like some romance books if it's well written.
