Chuck - great presentation, but you failed to mention that if you decide to opt out, your spouse has to go with you on your final out and SIGN acknowledging that they won’t get 55% of your pension upon your death - and that could be right then…

Great conversation that most do not consider. When I received my Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE), I was ignorant that that was the only time I could choose to Op OUT of the SBP. I was never provided the costs involved and when I determined the estimated costs, it seems pretty costly. I hope you might consider doing an updated changes to SBP with the pact act. I noticed that you did not receive mini positive responses, and in my opinion, it is more reflective of the fact that most people just simply don’t even think about this important financial decision. And in part, because you one is automatically enrolled in it, unless you decide to opt out, most people would simply presume it’s a good thing.

The SBP puts a target on the veterans back! I have a crazy ass story of family fraud and attempts to have me committed to steal $$$$ whar a huge fraud!
