the biggest problem i had is i'd never even heard of sbp until i had to make a decision with it, so due diligence was out the window. even years after i retired, i got divorced and they've made it virtually impossible to stop making the monthly sbp payments. i send them the paperwork they say they need and it's either incomplete or they never receive it.
