Drove thru Deadwood in 1971, I believe. They were having a festival of some sort at the time. A drunk cowboy jumped on the hood of our pickup and rode thru town. We didn't say a word to him. Deadwood wasn't commercialized back then.
ОтветитьBeautiful country! Thanks for the ride. Be Safe!
Ответитьbeautiful country. if you are going west into wyoming there will be more to come. a fovorite of mine is hwy 14 through the bighorns and on to Greybull and then there is beartooth mountains nert the yellowstone entrance from the east!! Happy trails Russ!

Lots of casinos in Deadwood.
Ответитьbest horse ride ever is at Andy's right outside of town, not your typical trail ride for sure
ОтветитьDeadwood is PACKED with bikers now! You must have rolled through last week - the calm before the storm! LoL
ОтветитьIt’s not a fluke that area attracts so many motorcycle riders to attend the Sturgis Rally. Great wide open blue skies over some of the best motorcycling roads and scenery anywhere. It’s a bucket list must do for anyone with a motorcycle, leathers not required.
ОтветитьI'm surprised there aren't; more motorcyclists out and about.
ОтветитьRuss I think Deadwood and surrounding areas would be a cool place to have a cabin and live! Well done love this area!!
ОтветитьWent to high school and college in Spearfish. I returned to Deadwood several years later and every old historicial building had been converted to a casino. I went in and found they had moved the relics back and set the machines in front. You could still find the card hand that Doc Holliday was holding when he was gunned down, along with the revolver. A few years later that display was gone and they added more machines.
ОтветитьCouple of stops in deadwood would have been nice..🙄🙄
ОтветитьHey Russ, enjoying these videos so much! Did you go through Elmore SD? Never knew about it till looking up places in SD you are traveling. Wonder if any connection to my last name? 😆 Take care and keep the cool videos coming!👍😃

ОтветитьWe went to South Dakota last year with our 5th wheel. When we went to Deadwood, there was a lot of construction. Looks good now. We stayed at a campground in Spearfish, which was one of the nicest campgrounds we ever stayed at. Thanks for allowing us to revisit the area.
ОтветитьSo there I was minding my own business, working on my Jeep and found myself humming your theme music! It’s catchy!! Really enjoy the your trip! Thanks Russ👍

ОтветитьBeautiful drive through North Dakota. I have driven through the Black Hills of South Dakota. Enjoy your journey be safe. 👍☕️🍀
Ответитьspent a few days in Deadwood mid-April 2000 at the Mineral Springs hotel,
it snowed at least 2 feet overnight and could hardly walk the streets.
Wild Bill Hickok's grave is there at Boot Hill....he got shot at a poker game.
Do not forget to visit Devils Tower if they are open.
ОтветитьDeadwood is such a neat place.....nice weather helps with the experience....thanks again for the virtual tour!
ОтветитьAs a Dutch Australian who drove a 1969 VW campervan the length and breadth of USA and Canada (all the way to the northern most point of Yukon Territory to Inuvik) in the 80's and having enjoyed the TV series Deadwood it was interesting to come along for the ride through the Black Hills to see Deadwood through your RV's window. Good format video to enjoy the US's roads, some narration when needed, some light music when needed, all good. Greetings from the Train Lord in South Australia.
ОтветитьThanks for posting. I don't get to travel much these days. Seeing places I've never been to is great.
Ответитьmade a few trips to deadwood when the burlington northern ran up there,, we stayed in the franklin hotel, then came back to edgemont the next day.... the right of way is a walking trail now.
