That is an impressive erection for the 1960s, given all the drugs and booze back then!

ОтветитьBerlin wurde im Zweiten Weltkrieg durch Bomben schwer beschädigt. Große Teile der Stadt mussten neu aufgebaut werden.

ОтветитьOh yes, the past was turbulent, but now a vigilant public steers democracy toward a brighter future. Flabbergasting naivety.

ОтветитьAnd with all their high culture and learning they walked right into the Nazi horror. That's something to think about. ....to ponder.
ОтветитьI have been to East and West Berlin. It was so different. We even shopped in East Berlin before the wall came down and the Stasi followed us around. Got my passport stamped at Checkpoint Charlie. Saw the erternal flame and drove by Hitlers bunker an was on the Eastern side of the Brandenburg gate. Went to the old train station which had a flea market in it. My brother moved to East Germany after the wall came down. He could tell some stories. Lol
ОтветитьI remember visiting my brother in East Berlin. Many of the East Germans wanted the wall back up. They didnt have to work as hard. It was their right to work but most places didnt have enough supplies to work all week so after cleaning up they would play games or knit and get paid for it until it was time to go home. Lol.
ОтветитьWe accidently drove into no mans land by Fulda. My mom went crazy until my father turned around and got us out of there.
ОтветитьWhen we shopped in East Berlin when the wall was up it was so different. The stores were not stocked well. The clerks were rude because us tourists were spending more money than they made in a year. The Stazi followed us around saying it was for our safety. Nobody jay walked except tourists. I loved the ampelman on the walking lights. I remember we went to the bathroom and left money for the bathroom cleaner. She almost cried because we left enough for her to buy her family presents and it was only a few dollars. We tried to leave more but Major Grieshabor pushed us out the door before we offended the lady. So many memories.
