How about we dig 10,000 feet holes in each city and throw trash in them which they burn and don’t stay on the surface.

Singapore has a plant burning 200 full truck loads of waste a day. That's about $90,000 in free energy a day. Plus whatever they can sell from the ashes. $36 million a year. I estimate it saves Singapore $2 billion every 30 years.

This should be what California should follow, not a train to nowhere and unsustainable electric cars and woke educational system. Singapore also has law and discipline which makes illegal drugs, corruption and dirty streets almost impossible but which California version is laughable.

Living in the orient…..I was sooooo surprised how much plastic, especially water bottles, are used. The dumps are gross and stink, and what isn’t in the dump, is in the ocean….😞😞

How much fuel is used to transport the different levels of waste to various outlets to and from processing and how much does it cost to burn the waste? How deep underneath the waste ash lakes do the rubber liners go?

Trash-to-power-incineration isn’t the BEST way to deal with the waste… However, it’s definitely the most PRACTICAL solution that makes the most sense for their situation.

True Facts: Singapore (and many countries) simply burn those trash that can be burnt and bury the rest that can't in landfills. Both "solutions" accelerate climate change and cause an environmental disaster decades down the road. We're essentially killing current generations now with the burning and killing the next few generations decades later when those unpleasant landfills erupt ...

Burning trash for energy is so obvious it hurts, and there is even big money in it. In the Scandinavian countries, this simple equation has made household trash a sellable commodity that is being traded across borders. Also, it's clean and healthy compared to any other solution, landfills being the worst option. Where are the US politicians???

I don't agree with Mrs. Kremena Lonkova at one point. She said, waste management should not generate revenue. I believe it should. That's what Singapore is doing. They are generating electricity. they are trying to use the ashes for other products like concrete and other things. Those are revenue-generating strategies. In fact, I believe that should be the case. Because that is what nature is doing. Our wastes are basically the organic nutrients for plants like urea, stools, etc. The waste products of plants like resin, and oxygen are revenue for animals and humans. So, basically, a sustainable system can be developed if we as humans can completely recycle or reuse all our waste and in the process, generate more revenue for people to live.

i thought they were recycleing but their jus burning it and orderly keeping waste clean. When u burn trash and not recycle the discharge of ash will be thrown into air witch eventually will damage the ozone layer witch infact as a developed counrty they aren't doing that much about

They aren't doing it cuz they wanted to cuz they have NO CHOICE. The result of not doing it is the total destruction and that applies to ANY small country. Look at Haiti, the ENTIRE country is basically a dumpster cuz corruption is the country's way of life. The first business MUST be law & order because without it, there's no cleaning environment.

Singapore didn't solve it's trash problem, it created double revenue for the government, revenue for disposal, from that they collect recyclables from trash, then incinerate for power generation, sold back to the people, ash made into bricks and caustic ash again sold but all of this burning is killing earth, C02 !

I wonder how this method will work in countries like India. In Delhi alone the population is close to 33 million. That means Delhi will need about 5-6 of these waste disposal plants assuming that per 5 million people in Delhi produce thesame volume of waste
