Hey Scotty, I got a 2006 Suburban. My compressor started smoking/squealing at about 2,000 - 3,000 rpms. I took the belt off and the compressor never locked up. Would it be ok to just change the compressor and nothing else since I caught it in time? Thank you!

On most modern systems, condenser cannot be backflushed properly due to their parallel design (different from older serpentine condensers) so must be replaced. Use new green HNBR O-rings, change the drier as well. This video is an oversimplified take on what must be done.

I need advice, on a 07 Chrysler 300 should I replace the condensor, or can I only do accumulator, expansion valve, and compressor. Thanks

My A/c works fine, but the pulley is squeaky with the AC on when it warms up and is hot. It's a clutchless mercedes one.

So I want to clean the system out before I put the new compressor in And i'm not sure how to do that. I know if I do it wrong all the work will be wasted. Any advice

The replacement compressor I bought says it came with a full system charge of oil, so how much do I drain out of it before installing it since there's oil in the rest of the system? I'm also replacing the desiccant dryer which includes the hose to the compressor. This is on my 87 Mustang with 302 V8 that I replaced everything but the compressor 10 years ago, flushed the evap, and converted to r134 and pag 46. The old compressor didn't fail... the system is just empty now, and I just replaced the tc cover, wp, ps pump, and am just dressing everything up for car shows.

My brand new ac compressor is knocking in my 996, 911. I checked all the bolts and nothing seems loose. It comes and goes but is mostly there. It goes away immediately when I turn the ac of while driving. Any ideas?

@scottykilmer why as mi turn on mi A/C few minutes or hour tge car shut off then afto wait 19 minutes for it to turn on back.

Unfortunately in Australia our one and only option is to take it to the mechanic as DIY on the AC system and parts in the car is illegal, it’s got to be regassed, repaired or replaced by a licensed mechanic with a refrigerant licence, I would like to service my AC but legally I can’t

Hey Scotty! I have an 05 Chevrolet equinox. Condenser is new and so is the drier and it holds refrigerant but won’t get cold. Compressor works as it should. When I turn the AC on you can hear the compressor engage. Trying to figure it out. Any info would help a lot!
