I opened it and i found out the problem, the rubber on the sensors burned out (degraded)

I fixed my stick drift, but broke my mic in the process which is my fault. Great tutorial, there are some things that you did wrong but overall keep up the good work.

I followed these precise steps and man let me tell you. Both my controllers were suffering from drifting left. And this fixed it! I can’t believe it man! I had bought a second controller cause my daughter dropped the first one. And to see it performing properly after watching this video. Just wow dude thanks so much !!!!!

question, are my avatar's suppose to move when I just move the controller on ps5? it is not stick Drift. They don't move a lot but enough to be annoying.

Mine fix was laughable easy, the vacuum cleaner without opening the controller. My controllers left stick started driving upwards and I didn't want to open the controller so I put vacuum cleaners suction quite low and started rotating left stick with the pipe and pressed the stick down couple times. Now the controller works again with no drifting broblem. Vacuum cleaners suction is strong enough to clean controller WITHOUT even opening it so give it a try first before opening the whole goddamn controller.

it made it worse. It went from a little jitter every once in a while to now looking left is slower than its meant to be. And i think the same with up and down

WARNING FOR PEOPLE ATTEMPTING THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME: Be very gentle! If you're just a little too rough, you can permanently damage the anolog stick. Although this method does work wonders, without caution, this will require you to buy a new controller all together

Mine had a couple small hairs but not inside the green flaps. Removed them anyways and cleaned whatever dust or residue that might be there that I couldn’t see. Im still getting drift. It’s not as bad as before and definitely not as common as it was before I opened my controller :( but it’s still there

I didnt even have to open the censors there was just cat hair inside the controller and near the censors lmao i just blew air and took out all the hairs and cleaned around it. My controller was stuck looking up before which messed me up in every game especially warzone but now it feels brand new! Now i gotta make sure my cats dont rub up on my controllers anymore hahaha

You would think all this money these fuckers can make a controller without this issue

Sometimes guys if cleaning doesn’t work u can buy new sensors for a few bucks, and replacing them works

Let me start by saying that this video absolutely saves the day. If you have the tools & steady hands for it, at least.
I wonder if this is just me, or the unfortunate reality of diy maintenance, or just how the controller is built. But - I did this on Aug 4th 23, & it completely fixed my left stick drift. (Left stick kept moving to the left, to the point where the controller was about unusable) but now a couple days ago (Sept 6th 23 as I write this) it began to drift the same again, & today it is back to as bad as it was the first time.
Again, I am thankful for this video, it really does help. And I will continue to use this method for as long as I can. But I am wondering if anyone else has done this & has experienced drift again & if so how long it took. I don't know what qualifies for "heavy use" for controllers these days, but I'd say I was using the controller for roughly 1-3 hours, maybe 4-6 days a week, average.
I am curious to other's experiences with this, thank you.

My controller has a weird issue where when I turn the right analog stick to the right it inputs as left but not vice versa. So right equals left and left equals left. Should I do this or do I have a different issue that requires a different solution?
