this is the worst report on Cayala
Amazing place.......
What a beauty!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Excelente....
The Streets of Guatemala ciy are not full of crime. that comment is bullshit !!!
Yes it's, so beautiful indeed, Guatelinda Rocks ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Cayala Guatemala it's very lovely and Stunning fine arquitecture!
WOOW Guatemala! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You are the worst person I ever hear.
This video is exactly why tourists stay away from Guatemala City . Is not true that crime is at every corner . Yes , we do have our social problems like any other country in the world .
Why use the word 'rebuild' instead of "build"? It haven't been built before nor were there buildings there before.
Are you talking about PHILADELPHIA , USA ? Not Guatemala city. Go to the sh
I have been to Cayala many times when I go to visit family in Guatemala! Cayala is really it's own beast and it's beautiful there.
I lived in the states for several years and Guathemala is sager than:
Miami, illinois, boston, all of the cities in california new york and the list goes on and on
You can bike your way throught most of guatemala city.
Guatemala ciry is nice and Green and much much more clean than most of the cities of the us,
All that aside,,,,CAYALA is very nice and in continuos expansión and there os mothing like it in the rest of latin america and many other parts of the world.
Interesting but sad that you make it sound like the rest of Guatemala is extremely dangerous which is not true. Safely in GT it is improving and recent crime indicators at similar level than Costa Rica which a lot of foreigners consider to be the safest county in LATAM
Beautifull city!!! 👏👏👏
Well, at least it is open to anyone
And I don't know if they are wrong, but this reaches people should also contribute with the government to build better houses for the rest of people and control crimes.
In the end, if you work and you make money with honesty, you are free to do what you want with your money. It is the liberty of democracy.

As a Guatemalan, I hate Cayala. It’s not because of the concept or the luxury. I have no quarrels with that. It’s a distasteful monument to ostentaciousness, and it’s poorly executed. Yes, it is visually striking, specially in a third-world country. But it is awful, and your comment that no architect would find any faults with it are absolutely false. There are many interesting things in the concept of Cayala, specially the development of open spaces that are accessible to everyone (no such thing usually exists in Guatemala City), but the execution is horrendous. Also, although technically correct that the residences are “over 70% of what the average Guatemalan makes in a year” is true, it’s also not descriptive. If I’m not mistaken, a house tends to be about USD1M and an apartment about USD700k. The average Guatemalan might go a lifetime without making that kind of money, and if you look at it in terms of rent, the average salary in the city is still below the average monthly rent price. Also, this area was originally a forest. Yes, it was private land, but it was converted to a huge slab of concrete, so not only is that an insult to the environment, it also means that it is scorching hot when you are there during the summer. All of this long winded comment can be summarized in stating that I hate Cayala for what it is, not what it wanted to be.
Ответить"promosm" 🤗
Cayala is not a city, its an overvalued mall for the richest of people here
and its all artificial, its just trying to imitate La Antigua Guatemala
Unique and beatiful designs. Great city
It's beautiful, the only thing needed is a mega fountain like the one in Vegas. Water features make a city more appealing
No. Just, no. As a guatemalan i can tell you, we dont think of Cayalá as an actual city. Ask anyone who actually lives here and we will tell you, ITS A SHOPPING MALL. One built and owned by corrupt rich individuals involved in national political scandals.
I would recommend, as a Guatemalan myself, that people stop considering "Cayalá" a city. Or even a functional part of our society. Upscale shops that close due to soaring rent, paint a bleak picture of what goes underneath. This is a simulacrum of a neighborhood. A sore that causes an insane amount of traffic and a disfunctional neighborhood made for foreigners and nationals that cling desperately to any sort of foreign heritage. No one "lives" in Cayalá. No one "stays" longer than needed for a movie and maybe a meal. I've spent one eight of the minimum wage in there, for a few slices of pizza and glasses of soda. It's insane.
Not only this, but it's an infamous area for enforcing the conservative, evangelical views of the upper echelons of Guatemalan society. We've had cases of people being thrown out, merely because they held their partner's hand in public, as an act of blatant homophobia.
So, I beg you to reconsider. This isn't an "ideal". It isn't even something that I, as someone living a scant few minutes away from this glorified mall, can even identify with.
A city like that is not only beautiful, but it will generate new income into the Guatemalan economy in taxes and new jobs.
I came here from Canada 8 years ago I bought a house I have a 4 year old daughter in a private college beautiful Guatemalan traditional wife it's all about what you're up to in the streets?
This was one of the most ignorant intros about Guatemala. The streets aren't FULL of crime. There are dangerous areas like any city, but you'd have to be an idiot gringo to walk into them.
Guatemalan streets might be dangerous, but at least our public schools are safe for kids.
It's a bubble where privileged and corrupt politicians live
Ответитьyea... its just a big open Mall you can resume it like that
Sorry, but that's not a city. It's a mall, themed around a city that is only a few blocks long and wide. So it's more of an example of a walkable neighborhood than a walkable city. For instance, there is no such thing as public transportation.
Es simplemente pura en vidia
This is accessible to ALL !!! Anyone can enter Cayalá. Stop spreading missinformation and half-truths. Places like Detroit and many more in the USA could really learn a lot from Guatemala.
