Guys, under AF settings, under Touch & Drag AF Settings... the " Tap to select subject to detect " setting is set to OFF and its grayed out.. I can't turn it on. Does anyone know why ?

The 1.6x crop is for when you must use an asp-c lens so you zoom to not see the black halo?

I don't have the option to set the frame rates to 24fps. I just have 25fps as an option. Overall I don't have as much options as you in the video. Does anybody know why it could be like this. (I'm in manual mode) Thanks!!

Canon should be paying Jared for this - not because he needs sponsors, but because he's doing the job they couldn't be bothered to do properly.

The other use case for allowing the camera to take photos with no lens attached is when using manual lenses. I do Astrophotography and manual lenses are a way of life for me. Because the lens has no electronics the camera thinks there is no lens attached.

Hi Jared there are settings in my r8 that i cannot acces (it is supposed to be written in white letters but it is gray and i cant go into it) I cant even adjust the raw and only in jpeg

Hello, i can't connect my R8 to my phone, as it says it R8 is not taken in charge by the app. I contacted Canon to get an answer but no sign of life from them.
Do you have same issue?
Regarding the latest uptade (2022) it seems normal that the R8 is not recognized by the app but when will it be???

Hello. Thank you for this video. In focus menus (magenta), I didn't see the item about micro ajustment of focus for lenses (as it used to be in some previous Canon cameras as far as I know). Did I miss somethink or is it somewhere else ?

I clicked to get the offer on the packs but missed them! Any chance I can get the 3 packs for the offer price? I have a new R8 and I need serious help with colouring my photos!!

Could somebody explain me one thing please. I switched my R8 to manual video rec mode and in video size settings I still have 8 options of video size instead of 12 like in Jared's video. For example I don't have option to record fhd 23.98p... there are only 25p and 50p for fhd and 4k. How's that possible? I use canon ef 50mm Lens with canon adapter.
