good information but it will be good if you say how
ОтветитьWhat a content ❤❤
ОтветитьMotivation is temporary discipline takes over when that fades away
ОтветитьProcrastinators. 2 tpes ...... 1 tap into stress system. Eg thoes who study a day before exam
For them hyperventilation or caffeine can help motivate ( if they are not panic attack prone or caffeine sensitive)
.........2nd type. They dont make enough dopamine. ...... for them supplements/ antidepressants
Very high levels of dopamine. Will make u want more of the thing.. keep on pursuing goals without contentment
After that dopamine crash. Will lead to seek more plesaurable activities
Novelty. Speed up increse in dopamine levels
ProlOnging. The arc of dopamine. By. Reflecting back on the positive experiences and how you reached the goal. , how pleasant it was working with your colleageus 8n achieving this etc
Parent child relation. Balance between dopamine sreotonin systemin healthy relations
Never say maybe to children eßpecially... it can lead to reward prediction errorleading to pain
Maybe. Means surprise( dopamine reward ) in neurobiol. Terms)
Leveraging dopamine
Supplements
Intermittent surprise rewards
Craving is proportinal to how much pleasue you experience buy taking it. And how much pain. If you dont take it
ОтветитьEbjoyment of something is anticipation of pleasure. About tnhe thing
ОтветитьCrash in dopamine. After a peak. Will lead to a fall. Leading to pain ( lack of pleasure ) eg repetedly taking sweets
ОтветитьCraving = onee part pleasuresure of dopamine + pain
ОтветитьDopamine. Molecule of surprisr , motivation and pleasure
Serotonin. Molecule of here and now. ( contentment)
Thank you! I'm trying to brush up on my Spanish and thats going to help with that! Awesome!
Ответитьphenylethylamine (PEA) or betaphenylethylamine has been in the supplement world forever and does nothing because it gets chewed up by MAO-B in minutes. Everyone knows this.
ОтветитьSo THANKFUL for this episode.
Also, some of Andrews's comments made me think he and Esther Perel would make an amusing interview. I've consumed everything Perel has ever said, but think it may be one of Huberman's more challenging guests.
Dr. Huberman, I’m wondering about Inspiration’s role in generating the necessary energy needed to cause a person to move forward and grow.
You’ve mentioned you’re a Christian. That being said, it would be reasonable for me to assume that you believe that words have “power” since God created everything by His Word - a fundamental Truth of Christianity.
From a neurobiological standpoint, how would Motivation, Drive and Inspiration translate into the energy that results in the progress that each of those words manifests simply by being full of power?
Earlier in the week, I was discussing the idea of inspiration with a friend. Then I came across one of your videos about motivation. Today, I began to think about drive, as drive is the only forward propelling directive that comes exclusively from within oneself, whereas motivation and inspiration come from external sources of influence.
Would it be reasonable to say that each of these are heavily reliant on one another in a rather direct and organized sequence: Inspiration, Motivation, Drive, Actuation - like a foundation?
Thank you for your consideration and for allowing me to share my musings.
I love this podcast so much because of how much it had benefited my well-being. So much to the point that ive started at episode one and im taking detailed notes on every episode. Thank you so much for doing what you do
ОтветитьShorter beard = even more handsome.
ОтветитьThank you for knowledge
ОтветитьThis was eye opening, THANK YOU!
ОтветитьDoes he cite his sources any where? Using this podcast for a project and need to know.
ОтветитьAndrew, the commercial introduction at the beginning of each video is too long. Love your videos.
ОтветитьWould love to hear a podcast with Dr. Shawn Baker!
ОтветитьGod will give you motivation, be specific
ОтветитьContentment, gratitude
ОтветитьThe code is not working for europe.... 😢
ОтветитьVery long not specific information to benefit
ОтветитьThanks, Tim! I love your teaching style. I love that you're mostly quiet with the occasional dad joke sprinkled in.
ОтветитьYou've been appearing in my suggested videos for a long time and honestly, by looking at the titles I tought you were yet another BS seller. I am glad to see I was wrong, thanks for sharing your useful knowledge and making this world a better place, this can be life changing
ОтветитьWhen we eat chocolate, we will want more chocolate. Is that unsatisfied desire?
ОтветитьI don’t think daylight exposure for increasing the efficacy of dopamine is good for persons with schizophrenia because of the already elevated dopamine in their system that their medications are trying to diminish. I tried light therapy first for 10 days, stopped because of psychosis flare up, then for 5 days and again psychosis, and another 3 just recently. Again psychosis flare up. Each time I stopped these attempts, my mental health went back to baseline and no psychosis. I’m not saying this is true for all those suffering from sz but it seemed to have a negative effect for me. Just my 5 cents worth. It did increase my energy and motivation so I believe you got it right—just not for persons who need to avoid more dopaminergic stimulus. Thanks for all you do Dr. Huberman. I still love your podcasts and listen faithfully.
ОтветитьI haven't understood this I have lived it 😢
ОтветитьVery much helpful. Thank you for professing 😉
ОтветитьI rarely have motivation due to some chemical imbalances but thats where discipline comes into play
ОтветитьYou have been greatly helping me to improve my life…
ОтветитьHi there its a terrific episode! I have very important question for you Dr Hubermann and all which may know the answer based on data. Im 24 now, all people are saying that I have a brilliant memory. And indeed its above the average and getting better and better as I'm trying to developing it all the time. I've been smoking low amounts of pot time to time and this is the case. From 18-23 lets say I was using like 1g for... 3 months? It was really time to time and not much. Now I can try it once for two months tiny dose. My question is if smoking like this could damage the brain for long time? Or with excercise and effort, suplemenets can I still be a machine?😁 Please let me know, its important case for me
ОтветитьI’m sooo envious of Dr. Huberman he is literally changing the world for the better. Better yet giving us the tools to change the world around us and how we interpret life. His suggestions improved my life and maybe even saved it.
Thank you Dr Huberman
@andrew huberman Dear Dr Huberman, thank you for giving us this opportunity to benefit from your valuable work! I do have a question - can we also leverage the serotonin circuit in addition to the intermittent reinforcement schedule to prevent the dopamine crash, when we reach a temporary milestone? I imagine some such happiness associated with ‘smelling the roses along the path’ would aid the intermittent rewards schedule for post-parnum’ avoidance. Thank you.
Ответитьthank you, thank you, thank you.
ОтветитьI would say like the almond meditation. I do a meditation with music because of the way it will make me feel and I just realized that it is very likely releasing the cannaboid and serotonin because it's a very intense feeling as if I took a drug
ОтветитьThank you so much Doctor !!!! I have a question , what if after the refractory period in sex when u feel like u don't to move we take a shower as men , do u will that help us to mate again ?
ОтветитьOh my gosh I am absolutely interested in the idea of sleeping better and focus more
