That's the one that aired on RFD TV with scenes skipped. More actions, this I gotta see!

What camera did you use to shoot this? There's something about the look of early HDV / HD footage that I just love!

Great videos! I drive a truck thru this area and the Pacific Northwest all the time. So I look now for the rail points of interest while on the road shown from all your videos. My drives aren’t so boring lol

Not much has changed since then! Well, except most of the power is filthy with mismatched doors and overall negelect.
The newest local is from KFalls to Bend, running twin SD75Ms.

This line goes right past the backyard of my grandparents house at Lake Almanor. Hearing the trains rumbling through the trees up on the hillside while we splashed in the water is a childhood memory I’ll never forget. Thanks for covering the Gateway! The trains look a lot different now than they did in ‘09

Autotracks trains run on the Gateway Sub. How many inches should tunnels be raised to accommodate container trains?

The use of concrete ties and CWR from Bieber? Is now the standard on the BNSF.

Speaking of the Gateway, I'm pretty sure that parts of the Gateway are now CTC from Bieber to Keddie and sees a little bit more traffic than what it used to. Thanks again for another great upload, Aaron!

I absolutely love the Feather River Canyon content. Although I was saddened by the fire in 2021, I have recently had the opportunity to view recent aerial photos of the impacted area, and you can clearly see things growing back. It's amazing how Mother Nature works. I hope to see more Feather River content in the future.

I’m retired from the Army now and enjoying the history of where I grew up as a kid, we lived in Klamath Falls, OR on Altamont Dr. And Onyx road and we had a full view of the BN yard at our front porch. During the winter months the cold air carried the sounds to longer distances and it sounded as if the trains were in the field across the street sometimes. To make life even more interesting, our home was along the final approach of the nearby Air National Guard base and when the F-4 Phantoms were coming in to land, it was so loud everyone had to pause all conversations until the planes passed, it was just normal procedure back then and nobody really minded the inconvenience. Dad worked for SP then UP so we had railroad activity always on our mind. The real annoyance was when OC&E would basically park their log trains on their main which would cut off all traffic on Altamont and Summers Lane, I remember going underneath the log spine cars and dragging my bicycle behind me, had a 5 mile bike ride to my school each morning (Klamath Christian Academy).
This video showed the area very well, it’s a beautiful place to live, just make sure you have a decent 4x4 vehicle and know how to drive on ice and snow, we use crushed red cinder on our roads for traction so don’t worry about your vehicle getting rust damage from salt, the arid climate on the Oregon High Desert preserves anything made out of metal.
