so Google Authenticator is much better than MS. lol how does it compare to Apple's built-in authenticator?
ОтветитьBiometric authentication is a very dangerous, false sense of security. Your face or fingerprint is practically public data, it is very easy to get it. And unlike a real password, you cannot change it. If a hacker gets hold on to it, you are compromised for life. Biometric data is more like a username, not a password. Also, biometric checks are performed by AI, which is inherently probability model based. Probability is not 100% accuracy, it's very easy to trick by hackers. Use AI to aid your work, not to replace it. AI results still require human verification. It's a fool's errand to think otherwise.
ОтветитьWhat about an authenticator based on DES128 which is an extended version of DES64
ОтветитьI know its a diffrent subject but is keypassdx safe? is it just an android version of keypassxc? ive just got my pixel phone and installed graphine and want to get all the safe apps like password manager email 2fa excreta. ps love your channle recently found it thanks for all the info, much appreciated.
ОтветитьNot sure if I missed it, but I didn't see any recommendation for a 2FA app.
ОтветитьSo what should I use for ios then?
Ответитьgreat info thanks
ОтветитьWhat Microsoft is doing is highly illegal in the EU.
I'm AMAZED they get away with it.
Very few people give thoughts on privacy, if you are one, this video will make more sense
ОтветитьHey there, Free OTP doesn’t work with a well known VPN provider. So it may work with other apps but not all.
ОтветитьWhen your company's implementation requires Microsoft Authenticator and fails with others, is there a privacy oriented authenticator that behaves like Microsoft's?
I tried Aegis but while it works for other sites where the code is displayed and you type it in the app that needs it, it fails with Ms 2FA apps that display the code, makes you type it on the Ms authenticator and it communicates with the app over the network.
I used a work profile to try and contain MsAuthenticator but it still asked for eccessive rights, so I did not feel quite safe from snooping.
Does this have anything to do with mail merge.
ОтветитьHold the phone !!! FreeOTP+ fork has an option to back up to ....... dun dun dun................ Google Drive!!!
Kind of defeats the object of degoogling.
Its amazing how tech just keeps recycling old tech and calling it new, its like lessons never learned, I have lived long enough to be in the days of dongles, (security keys), pain in the butt but they did the job
ОтветитьThe sad thing is we're using Google's (Alphabet) to learn about privacy. I remember when most things could be forgotten. Not anymore.
Thank you Naomi!!
aegis is the best authenticator
ОтветитьMicrosoft is doing the ads for duckduckgoose but is more secure than Google
ОтветитьThat’s a great overview! I would have loved to see the iOS build in 2fa password keychain in your list.
ОтветитьReally nice vid.
ОтветитьGoogle doesn’t need to collect anymore data.. they already have it all 😂
Ответитьgoogle authenticator now syncs my authenticator codes its cool
ОтветитьHow about new Proton Pass in app 2FA stacks up with other open source 2FA?
ОтветитьSimple terms what's the most private and safest authentication app?
ОтветитьWould love a video covering ProtonPass.
ОтветитьBitwarden?
ОтветитьThank you very much for helping me out to find a good and private solution for all my 2FA Codes. I started following your videos 2 weeks ago and you really inspired me to care more about my personal privacy rights. e.g. to change my 2FA App and to change my Cloud Space and to check what is really going on, on my Phone, Desktop and other Devices.
ОтветитьRandom comment to support... Epic final of the video with all those viruses on the screen 😱🤯😂
ОтветитьBe aware that a lot of QR code readers send everything you scan to the cloud! /o\
ОтветитьWhat about gnome authenticator?
ОтветитьRe: Authy, I don't think it's enough but they've at least updated their Privacy Notice with effect Aug 10: "We clarified that we do not sell your personal information to, or share your information with, third parties for cross-context behavior advertising."
Also I had trouble figuring out FreeOTP, or getting it to generate a token I could do 2FA with
I have stopped using 2FA on my accounts after nearly losing a couple of important old accounts which had reset on me at the same time I changed to a new phone. The whole back- and forwards compatibility, security process and recovery is poorly thought out.
ОтветитьHow do you synchronise across multiple devices without providing your servers with information?
ОтветитьI have a question rgarding Microsoft Authenticator, specifically the "he clicked here, scrolled here" stuff.
Does it collect every finger taps and scrolI make all the time or just the ones i make while Microsoft Authenticator is open?
I like KeepassDX,
aside from passwordmanager, it also supports TOTP
hat if you lose your security key?
ОтветитьCant wait for Proton Pass to come out it has 2FA too since i cant trust the other apps that much but still i have to be careful of proton too u never know
Ответитьkeepkey is essential... 2fa using sms, or google is risky & less secure in times.
ОтветитьGood Video, On my way to install and use authy
Ответить❤😊She's so sweet
ОтветитьThese apps are not 'something you have', they are just a second password
Ответитьso when smartphone A is dead or stolen i must resetting up the login synch and can use the key which had been displayed beside the qr-code right? will just test. no need to restart synching from scratch?
ОтветитьMS authenticator: Wlan needed. Google Auth. NO. all data, search stored in cloud google one.
Ответитьwhats the website that lists the permissions and stuff thats shown in the video pls?
ОтветитьWhat about self-hosted passbolt?
ОтветитьWhich 1 the best for me please 😢
ОтветитьKosher Cat Authenticator, if it existed, would DEFINITELY be at the bottom of the list of choices. For obvious reasons....
ОтветитьThere are some crazy folks out there whose data is also collected. A company that collects data for a large number of people just stores that, among other reasons, for law enforcement to potentially investigate. Just having our data collected isn't necessarily spying. Anyone who spies on me is going to get pretty bored, so I'm not worried that much about privacy especially as I get older. You younger folks in good health are going to figure out that you're not immortal. All living things eventually die, so don't be so paranoid about privacy.
ОтветитьWhy you don't mention OTPs on Yubikeys? is the most secure due are not tied to internet?
ОтветитьRaivo on Mac/iOS is open source.
ОтветитьUmmm, don't they NEED your phone and email so they can send you verification codes if you get locked out??
Come on man 😅
