Does this only operate in USA? How many languages does it come with?
Ответить🎅 ☎️ I need a new phone.
ОтветитьIs the Flip2 able to receive and read texts in other languages with Unicode characters, e.g. Chinese? (I realize it cannot send messages in other languages but was hoping it could at least a receive them)
ОтветитьGood video but a section on the very basic steps to do simple things such as answering a call would be helpful. My Dad, who has just turned 88 and is technology-challenged would appreciate it. I know that info is in the manual but a video would be great too.
ОтветитьYou don't mention how to turn the text and missed calls lights off.. I hate it..
ОтветитьJesus Christ Is Our Only Living God and the Only way to get to Heaven is through Him.
He gave His life for us, at lest we can do is take the time to find out why He would do that for us.
He loves us, and only ask to believe in Him, and turn away from the sinful ways. We all sin weather wishing someone died or actually killing them, it is the same in Gods eyes. He loves us and will help us change our ways just by asking. He is coming real soon for his followers, Please don’t be left here for the wrath to come upon the wickedness of this world. Just look around. He died for our sins, He lived a sinless life and we killed Him, buried Him and He rose up on the third day them ascended to heaven
What if you don't want Alexa??? Sounded good until you mentioned Alexa, it records everuthing you say. Big violation of privacy. Is there a Jitterbug that DOESN'T have Alexa??
ОтветитьGood info. Thanks! Bless!
ОтветитьDo they add another $30 of taxes and various fees to your bill every month like other companies do?
ОтветитьHow to reset this phone to factory settings?
Ответитьlively flip phone giving me error message please wait while we setup your device
ОтветитьI believe you are mistaken about the Jitterbug 2 flip. There is no Jitterbug 2 flip that has a full keyboard, it is only on there smart phone. I have one of these phones and with the other fees they take on it cost just over $30.00 per month.
ОтветитьThis was informative but when I purchased this for my sight handicapped sister I was told she didn’t need internet. Now to have the Alexa call feature work I have to have an Amazon account. I order from Amazon and am pretty sure I have an account but can’t get a response when I send them the requested 3 digit code. So I quest what I need is help setting up the phone. I see no responses recently to this video, I’m just wandering where to go for help, Amazon says call Lively, lively says call Amazon so I’m just sitting on this phone since before Christmas!
ОтветитьI don't like the way this boomer talks with customer service
ОтветитьJust got one of these because Lively's network changes on January 2 apparently killed Jitterbug 1 Flip phones. They did replace the phone for free (yea!), but it took them nearly three weeks (boo!) They did offer a workaround for emergencies though ... dial 911 from another phone (sigh). Some of the new bells and whistles of this phone, particularly Alexa, appeal to me, but will be useless to my dad, and the overall decline in the user interface makes it very hard for him to do basic things.
Specifically, making a call for him used to be: 1.) Open phone, 2) Press YES button for the default Phone Call option, 3) Scroll through the list of speed dials of the five people that realistically are the only people he'll ever call, and 4) Press YES again when highlighting the name he wants. With the new phone, it''s 1) Open phone, 2) Press Ok [sic] button to go to phone, 3) Scroll through menu options to find Contacts, 4) Press Ok again, 5) Scroll through list of contacts , 6) Press Ok again to choose a contact and display the number, 7) Press Ok again to go dial screen, 8) Press Ok again to actually dial (smh).
I hope he'll get it, but I'm not really optimistic. There's a Speed Dial option, but apparently it just assigns a number to a particular contact. He could then dial that contact by pressing and holding that single number, but that assumes he remembers which number is for which person. (He won't.) I may need to make a crib sheet and glue it to the phone somehow. I could also set up Alexa for him, and then he'd just have to go into Ask Alexa, instead of Phone, and say "Alexa, ask Lively to call Greg". Yeah, shaking my head again.
Does this phone use 4g network?
ОтветитьI upgraded my Mom's Jitterbug Flip to the Flip2 and there are some caveats:
1. The Flip2 has a very limited subset of Alexa commands out of the box, as it is not a full Alexa device. Even when the Flip2 is successfully linked to an Amazon account and Alexa "Skills" are enabled (Which is a non-intuitive pain-in-the-ass,) Alexa's abilities to control the phone functions itself are limited.
If you ask the Flip2 Alexa to call someone on your phone's contact list, it will reply "Calling with Alexa is not supported on this device."
Instead, you need to say "Alexa, ask Lively to call Joe" which is not particularly intuitive and requires remembering to insert the phrase "ask Lively" into particular requests...Which may be challenging for seniors with memory issues.
2. The attenuated Alexa functions are only available when the phone is flipped open and the screen is active. When the phone is closed or the screen times out, Alexa is not listening.
3. The small status screen when the phone is closed is not as bright and has lower contrast than the previous Flip...And the User Interface on the small screen and main screen is still occasionally peppered with various VERY tiny text which can be problematic with low vision/Macular Degeneration.
4. Inexplicably stupid: Enabling "Settings -> Accessibility -> Read Out" will not read out the available items on the top menu screen (Phone, Text Messages, Contacts, etc)...And will only read out SOME of the sub-menus...Making the read out function hit-and-miss/annoying to low vision users that might depend on it.
5. Despite the caveats and flaws, I think Lively Flip2 is still one of the top choices for flip phones with features specifically for seniors and people with low vision IMHO.
There IS a relatively steep learning curve both with setting up the Flip2 to it's fullest (limited) capability compared to a smartphone as well as using it as a daily driver.
But if your Mom/Dad wants a phone they can simply and easily flip open to receive a call (arthritis) and use a limited bit of Alexa voice functionality (once it is set up correctly)...The Flip2 is a decent choice out of a very limited selection of flip phones available via US cell phone carriers.
6. Alcatel/TCL desperately needs to hire some HoH/Deaf/Low-Vision/Blind peeps on their design/UI teams and make their "accessible" flip phones more accessible!
This phone is much more difficult to use than the regular jitterbug
ОтветитьI ca.n not pair to my car with this phone
ОтветитьI want a phone that is just a phone. Simple phone, nothing more. Key pad and speaker. No camera, no apps, no text and no screen. And damn sure no alexa! Just take and make calls, period.
ОтветитьGoo for me but How much cost ?
ОтветитьIs this phone compatible with Twigby wireless?
ОтветитьTyvm
ОтветитьTO minimize bias in the review, i would like to see a bit more minimal (non to low smart) phone and plan comparison for various senior comfort levels like Tello and Mint plans and CAT S22 etc.
ОтветитьNah those phones are literally no camera no 2160 touch screen led like what’s the ram on that looks like you can’t even text on that lmao high key you buy a jitter bug you dumb
ОтветитьThis is the worse flip phone ever made. Its a joke saying its for seniors and so easy to use. It has so many steps to just try to call or erase voice mails.
ОтветитьDoes anyone know if this phone can get Google Maps on it?
ОтветитьHow do i add an app
ОтветитьTerrible service & customer care!!
This service doesn’t work in VT, & the customer service is terrible!!! Do not waste your parents money!
I need to know how to turn off the airplane mode
ОтветитьTHIS IS THE BIGGEST PIECE OF SHIT PHONE ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET. if you have a family member that you love or care anything about, DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF RABBIT SHIT.
GLITCHY AS FUCK.
HAVE TO TURN OFF AND ON JUST TO BE ABLE TO MAKE OR RECEIVE CALLS. most UNFRIENDLY device ever created. It’s a fucking crying shame that they market this monstrosity to the elderly and sight impaired.
If you have want someone you hate and wish to die all alone and not be able to call for help, then by all means THIS IS THE PHONE FOR YOU
You cant put a password on the phone for security. Major problem
ОтветитьI wanted to know how to delete the call history number that is displayed on a friend's phone. She has 16 missed calls.
Ответить👍 Thanks 🥰
ОтветитьI really hope someone would stand up to these companies that target the elderly to scam. This company prey on the elderly with hidden fees and charges that auto bill monthly.
ОтветитьThese phones are POS. Period. Volume bar is placed where the owner WILL inadvertently turn it up, down or silent!!! Second, my phone is losing features over time, and now it won't ring half the time. There are CHEAPLY made, and NOT worth buying, esp. for seniors. They are junk
ОтветитьApparently there's no way to factory reset tbe phone to wipe your data.
Ответитьhow does it work? looking for how to
ОтветитьYou did awesome job on this review… very helpful. Thank you. Will be definitely getting this for my 88 yr old Mom!
ОтветитьSaddly, to improve the phone reception signal, one musrt connect to a WiFi system. However, although the Lively Flip does have a Blutooth connection option, it does not allow you to use captial Upper case letters in the password setting, beyond the very first Letter. I have tried to change the keeboard selection on several occassions and no matter what I select, you can not overcome this peculiarirty of not allowing Upper Case letter inpuit. So, it defeats the purpose of having a Bluetooth option. Mostg passwods have atleast 1 or 2 uppercase letters that render the phone useless.
ОтветитьDon't dox yourself like that! You just put on the internet that you're 1 mile away from a specific Cold Stone Creamery! Just be careful. If I wanted to be a bad person to you, which I don't, you just made it easy for me to find you. Luckily, I doubt you have many haters, but that's info that you don't want to share online. Maybe I'm dumb and you purposely didn't ask for ice cream near your actual house.
