Great job, the deck is beautiful.
ОтветитьNice job…..! Looks Fantastic.
ОтветитьFantastic work, Marie! Nicely done! 😃
It ended up with a pretty similar look to Garapeira, a wood we use a lot here in Brazil... I wander if that's the reason for the stain's name!
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Looks fantastic & impressed with the reviver 👍. How long does an application last?
ОтветитьHow often does it rain there? And a lot of rain as well… Your deck looks great now, got me inspired to do ours too
ОтветитьGreat job on the deck restoration Marie! Thanks for sharing the video with us!👍💖😎JP
ОтветитьMuy lindo trabajo, como siempre me encantas, gracias por compartir tus proyectos,.. 😶Eres una mujer muy wapa, atractiva, un abrazo desde Chile 🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱
Ответитьthat turned out awesome !!! looks beautiful !
ОтветитьLooks like a great product Marie, thanks for sharing.
Cheers
Marie ... another timely video for one of my upcoming projects: refinishing my deck. A couple of questions / requests: What is the rough size of your deck and therefore how much product did you use? Why didn't you see the need to sand after cleaning? Question for Osmo ... would they recommend it on Kebony (European version of environmentally friendly pressure treated lumber). Thanks !
Ответитьomg this is EXACTLY what I need right now. Insane timing!!! Going to tell my dad about this because he would love this as well. MY GOD!! Had no idea that gel existed!
ОтветитьProducts only available in Canada :)
ОтветитьNice job! Will need to do the same this Fall when it cools off here in Oklahoma. Will definitely try the Osmo products. Tip: I used to use a pressure washer on the (hardwood) deck, but after shoulder replacement and back surgery had to find something that wasn't so hard to start and use. I bought the bristle brush attachment for my EGO powerhead and was AMAZED at how well it cleaned the deck. Cleaned it thoroughly and uniformly (no pressure washer streaks). It was also MUCH easier and faster (took just as long to clear the deck first). Highly recommend for any deck owner. Enjoy your videos!
ОтветитьLooks great, I wonder how well it would work on a pressure treated deck. I have one to do next year
ОтветитьWhat a difference! Any problem about working with oxycylic acid?
ОтветитьWOW!!!! Amazing!!!!! That is Awesome Stuff!!!!!! Well done!!!! I actually need to do this myself!!!! Thank You!!!!! 😲🤔😁🌹💙👍😎🤩🤘
ОтветитьWow.....what an amazing transformation. It turned out beautiful! Should it be reapplied annually? I bet you smile every time you see the deck now!
ОтветитьThat came really good
ОтветитьOf course there’s no where to buy this in Ohio
ОтветитьReally great to see these Osmo deck products in action in a real life application!
Ответитьcool
ОтветитьNot available in US 😕
ОтветитьYeah, my wife decided to "help" me by finishing pressure washing the deck while I was at work... and splintered the heck out of the wood. You have to be extremely careful using a pressures washer on a deck, use a wide nozzle pattern and hold it several inches away from the wood.
ОтветитьYou must live in BC canada (:
ОтветитьHow can I get the power gel kit in the United States?
ОтветитьLooks beautiful when is it available stateside or can you. Just travel over border to buy it 😅
ОтветитьUnexpected rain in Canada?
ОтветитьWow it looks amazing I'm so doing this tx hun God bless
ОтветитьHello! Great video! I live in Montréal and am wondering how well the oiled deck has stood up so far with our weather? I also have an unfinished cedar deck and am thinking of doing the same treatment to mine. Thanks!
Ответитьwas that deck pressure treated? nice legs
Ответитьthis is an amazing video. I feel encouraged. I just bought an old log cabin with horrible decks. This looks AMAZING. You should get a commission on the products!
ОтветитьYou didnt need to sand them first?
ОтветитьGreat video! Thank you! Our old deck has old paint. What should I do before using the gel? Thanks.
ОтветитьHow is it holding up after a year? Interested in how often the finish will need to be refreshed.
ОтветитьHi Marie, how does this stain/oil performs after the winter?
Should we re-oil every year ?
Have you considered Huile pour terrasses antidérapante - 430?
In case it was too slippery after the initial application
So happy I came across your awesome video! Thank you! I wanted something better than retail box store products!
Btw, how long did the product last and do need yearly touch ups? Thank you ahead of time.
Osmo has UV protection oil as well in clear and other tones. Would you recommend using it along with decking oil? I also prefer the natural or light color over deck. So can i mix grapa decking oil with clear UV protection oil ?
ОтветитьHave used a garden knife (good for narly Johnson grass) to slide between boards that collects lots. Oxalic acid thought is what naval jelly is made of (for rust removal), makes a large difference on appearance of the wood ! (maybe wear more protective things). We just brushed lots of dark bits off the cedar fence (wearing a mask), then tried to clean with vinegar, not much diff. Might try a borax solution after for reducing flamability and fungus and termites . How does your deck loock now after almost 2 yrs?
ОтветитьOSMO, like all solvent based finishes, only leaves behind a plastic coating, 100% of the oil/solvent evaporates into the atmosphere. Only a plant based stain, like linseed oil, penetrates into the pores of the wood. Plant based stains/paints have zero VOC's and zero evaporation. Every petroleum based stain basically protects the wood with plastic for awhile and then fails, leaving you with a ruined wood deck.
ОтветитьGreat job, i am doing the same process on my deck
Ответитьwould restor a finish work?
ОтветитьBest deck refinishing video, lots of info ,great results 👍
ОтветитьLooks great, my cedar deck needs something that works this well. Where can I get it?
Ответить@DIYMontreal it turned out lovely. How often do you have to do it? I can't stand grey! Wish I saw this before I "refreshed" mine. Over time our deck (much older than yours) swelled/shrank, popped nails, twisted and split. You definitely couldn't walk without footwear. It took me days to pound nails back down, hand plane (I tortured my way through with a block plane fresh out of the package...I didn't know at the time there was a better way...sigh). After painstakingly sanding/planing every knot and bump out and crippling my stupid arthritis I finally was able to step back and admire my efforts. I stained with Thompson seal over fresh looking boards. I had to work under tarps in sections because it decided to rain day after day. The temperature was lowering quickly so I couldn't waste any more time. I was furious with the Thompson seal! I was ridiculously expensive, and only kept the grey away 3 months!! Oh and supposedly needs redone EVERY year...
ОтветитьWhere can you buy the product in Western Canada? Vancouver area.
ОтветитьYou didn't have to sand it first?
ОтветитьWould this work on a stained deck that has faded?
ОтветитьHow is the deck holding up? Im also in mtl and need to fix up ky deck, would you still recommend osmo products?
Ответить2 years later, how's the deck doing?
ОтветитьHow long does the stain last?
