HUGE NEW FIRMWARE UPDATE! DJI FLY 1.12.4 | DJI Mini 4 Pro / Air 3

Unfortunately, this update imposed a maximum altitude limit of 120 m, which means that the entire declassification of drones is useless - I lost the ability to fly above 500 m and gained small, unimportant additions. It's a pity that no one mentioned it when making material about this update...

Could i fly the aircraft A3 just with the interga goggles.

Hi Darren, upgraded from Mini 2 to 4 pro a few months ago, been following your Great Vids, since 2 came out. Purchase the cheat sheets yesterday, learned a trick or 2. QUESTION: I didnt purchase the RC2 so when i tried the vision assist, didnt change the view when swipping, are u aware if this feature only works for the RC2?

Hi Darren, I just bought Mini 4 Pro and I recall some information you put out in one of the videos that you can reclassify your drone until Dec 31st. I live in the US and I know this doesn't apply here, but I wonder if I travel to EU with it, will I then be restricted to 120m height while there. I have no way of removing that height restriction since it's not present in DJI Fly app while I am here.

Updated mine yesterday.. Now my RC controller doesn't charge anymore.. What a way to go into 2024.

did they just take out 2.7k video recording?

Hi Darren, another video on YT mentions updating the batteries as well but I don't see an option to do this on Mini4 pro with RC2. The rest of the update took several attempts to complete but all seems to work well. Hope you've had a great Christmas 👍🏼

You mention that lower sensors can be turned off in order to land on a moving boat. You repeat yourself and keep showing several examples to repeat yourself several times that it goes down fast without hesitation. I get it/ repeating that 4-5 times is redundant and you don’t explain how to turn off the landing/lower sensors.

Due to UK Weather issues, I've only just had a chance to try out the Mini 4 Pro with new updates. To say I'm pissed off is an understatement! First thing I tried was the new Auto mode active track...This just Could Not Lock-on to me as a subject on a Bike...But it DID Lock-on to Every Car that went by! Rubbish! Just completely Useless!... Ok, so Now I get to my destination to do a little shoot for a friend. launched Drone, and proceded to shoot Video, all good. .. But then the screen Dimmed and I was told it was in 'Night' Mode!.. I hadn't selected this, so checked the Icons and yes, it said it was still in Normal Video mode, so I selected Night mode, the screen flickered and returned to excactly the same brightness, so I selected Normal, and the same. Just would NOT go back to Normal Daytime mode. Absolutely Wasted a whole day of paid work for me this has, and I can't even get any answers from Dji as everyone's on bleedin' Holiday! Agggggh!.. Am I the only one that has problems after this Latest mega Update?... Drone was performing absolutely 100% perfect before updating Drone and RC2 Controller.

So, how do I turn off the downward sensors? Tried turning off obstacle avoidance, but my drone still hesitates trying to land and catch when on a boat.

I have seen a lot of issues since the recent firmware update not just me but a few people on social media. The aircraft dynamic safety data warning comes up on the main flight screen. When you try to update firmware it says it’s already upto date. It has N/A in the settings. My air 3 flys fine apart from this warning message. Tried getting locked sats and using mobile phone as a hotspot but still doesn’t change things. I still get dynamic safety data needs updating. Dried assistant 2 still can’t fix.

After this new update the Rc2 controller started to lag and sutter a lot.. i try reset but is the same.

I agree the new features are great but wondering why no one is commenting on the fly app addition of Smartshots settings? Seems pretty important, but not enough for DJI to release any instructions.

If I ever decided to fly with goggles, am I required to use the Motion Controller 2?

Or can I still use the original RC for my M4pro alongside with the goggles?

I got the google integra&MC2 for the m3Pro (no avata), and upgraded, so this is a GREAT update for me! weather so bad I've hardly used it (30 minutes if that), so this might encourage me to try harder ;) Hoping for an avata 2 in the new year (never know!) and that would be the icing on the cake (twice lol). Hi Darren, you sent me out the printed version of the ultimate drone moves cheat sheet. And I also got the cheat sheet setting downloaded version as well as the luts. Can you do the printed version of the cheat sheet settings as well?

Is there a luts and cheat sheets combo or do they have to be purchased separately ?

Did update it on my rc pro connecting with the mavic 3 pro however I dont see the 1000m option anymore on my rc pro. (I am aware its illegal)

Thanks for sharing this info. I just wondered if you have any kind of info regarding updates for DJI Fly app on the DJI RC. I bought the Mini 3 pro fly more combo with the DJI RC and use that controller to fly my DJI Air 2s so I only need to take one controller for the 2 drones. The issue I have is that after investing in a DJI RC Controller it doesn't seem to receive the app updates which are available on my Android mobiles I kept for flying my DJI Air 2. I wonder why DJI don't support their own RC series with the latest software when it must be easier to develop, test and release software for their own DJI RC than for all of the many different makes and models of Android phones and tablets. Hi, thank you for the video. I have 2 questions: 1. There is Rocksteady in Avata, but in the Mini4PRO if you flying with RCM2 how will you make the records smooth? 2. When you drive Avata close to the ground, it will become too slow. Do you think DJI will make an update on Avata too, where you can disable a bottom sensors?

Does this update cause the 120m altitude limit to return?

I now want the mini 4 just for the turning off the downwards sensors 🤣 I don't do sooo many gaps or under bridges because of that stupid sensor.

Hey, do you think Dji will release a Firmware update for the Air 3. Adding the option to switch the auxiliary landing light to a strobe light. As this is a requirement in most countries to fly at night thank you 😊

My drone would not be at DJI if I had this option to turn off the sensor. Trying to fly in fog was a bad Idea.

If you update the firmware on your DJI air 3 make sure to also update the DJI fly app if not your drone won’t fly. It happened to me today once I updated the app aswell it worked again

Still no 10 bit 4:2:2…that’s rubbish.

If not, that has my mind thinking... actually hidden camera's confirmed. Wow..

I'd have really loved to see a "Clean HDMI out" in the update. The RC pro and smart controller doesn't support either the mini 4 and Air 3 so there is no way to get a clean HDMI out on this drones.

I just ordered Dji Air3 drone and I'm from EU, so I'm wondering if the height limit is 120m for the dji AIR 3 drone? or is this height limit only for small drone Dji Mini 4 PRO? and Is it possible in some cases to fly DJI AIR3 in EU at your own risk above 120 m, for example at least 150 m?

Amazing news! I was waiting for the goggles integration! I am also happy with the auto tracking feature, but the goggles was the reason I bought the Integra! I might not use the Avata much, but the goggles with the Mini 4, I definitely will! It is a better esperience in general.
