Thank you Lord, Mother Nature and the Monsoon season. Northern Arizona has been getting lots of rain. Wow, the drought is officially over and the lake should be back to the top of Hover Dam by the end of the month. What? I don’t understand, are you saying that the Monsoonal rains are ending? Still, it’s enough water to refill the entire lake… Right? No? So the lake is 1043.67 feet, isn’t that a lot? You mean above sea level. Well how deep is that exactly? Dead Pool (Yes I saw the Movie) no? The level at which water no longer flows downstream past Hoover dam. O, that dead pool, and it is at 895 feet. Well if Lake Mead is 1043.67 and it has until 895 feet, that’s a difference of (sin divided by the derivative coefficient of pie (now I want dessert) multiplied by the circumference of apples and oranges)) subtracted which gets you 148.67 feet left in the Lake. So how long will it take until it reaches dead pool? If you go by how much water has disappeared from the lake over the past 3 years, it averages out to 22 months. After that we in Las Vegas should still have water streaming out of our kitchen taps forever right? Well, that’s what we were told when we funded that 3rd straw right? You mean the 3rd straw goes dry at 850 feet. Hold on, dead pool is at 895 feet which is 45 feet higher right? What do you mean we have to take area and volume under consideration? Isn’t lake Mead just like by the Dam with nice poolside walls straight to the bottom. No? You mean it’s shaped like a “V” and the lower the lake goes, the less water there is to pump out? Really? So how much time past dead pool will we be able to pump water? We will only have 2 months passed dead pool of water if it even belonged to Nevada but it doesn’t. At that point California owns it.
