Please forgive me if I’m asking a question that’s been asked a million times. But I’m a mechanic just trying to edit some fabricating videos I’ve recorded with my phone or go pro. I’ve got an old HP Envy 17t (17t-n100) 17.3″ screen with an Intel i7, Nvidia 950M and 16GB RAM. I have no idea if any of that is still relevant technology today. But I just want the video playback to be better. Can I upgrade parts in this thing to make it perform without me wanting to snap it in half when the playback gets all laggy?

I keep hearing from different reviews that HP is notoriously slow? Have you heard this or experienced it compared with other PCs?

Hey man I'm new to the laptop/computer scene, but not to editing. I've made tons of videos on my phone.. short videos but with tons of edits, trims, layers, ect. So it's always been smooth but rn I'm looking to make a really long video probably between 2-3 hours, With abunch of layers & trims ect but im having problems processing it cause it's so long & packed with edits. It doesn't have the sound orbeditblined up right when it's finalized. Ive already done so much & dont wanna give up. So I figured it's time to get something more powerful. Like I said I'm new to the computer world so I would like some recommendations. Preferably a laptop that's compatible with android apps so I can use my same editing app. Motion ninja. I'm about to buy an Asus Zenbook Flip 15 Ryzen 7 4700U and the integrated Radeon 7 card. No gaming needs, 90% everyday use, very occasional photo management and home-use video editing - if at all. Shall I get a model with Intel i7 and Nvidia 1650 if I can afford or the integrated card will be fine even on a long run? I like the ports, the glossy screen is the only thing I may regret and still hesitate about😉 but the Zenbook seems to be a great series. (I come from a glossy screen anyway) Touch screen is not a must but good to have for me.

If a Mac book pro is used, is premier pro editing a free download or should a person buy Apple's editing program download and learn to use that ?
