That's kinda what I was thinking of using for some tracks for my Jackson also. By the way, are you still using the cable and pulley system for the steering on your Jackson? I haven't changed mine over yet, but I'm gonna have to do something soon as my steering rods and getting kinda shabby.

Great info as ever!
Note if you have a few boats or some friends that might be interested, the 48” rails in bulk can be cut to size and make all way cheaper👍🏻

They also sell jack nuts with a rubber like coating that self seals. I've had really good luck with those.

Food for thought - your last aluminum gear track corroded out, likely because of the different metal hardware it was mounted with reacting with the aluminum when exposed to salt water. The well nuts insulate the metals from one another and for that reason may be a better solution. In addition, not sure if those jack nuts are made out of a material that will rust out.

I installed the t-tracks using Tri-Grip Rivets because I like the smallest holes I can get by with. To solve the problem of not getting the riveter to reach the rivet I just dropped small washer on the nail till the riveter touched the washers. I now have 4 24" t-tracks secured down with Tri-Grip Rivets. Love your videos lots of great ideas.

Im planning on installing a scotty anchor lock system to my sit on top kayak with a 3.5 pound anchor. I watched your other video about rivets vs well nuts and just saw this one about the jack nuts. I was wondering if you had any recommendations on which to use (i don't have the scotty anchor yet but i don think my rivet gun will work). this will be my first time drilling any holes into my kayak and I am slightly concerned about damaging it. Any help is appreciated. Love how insightful your videos are!!! Thank

Do you have to buy a specific size Tbolt for the Ttrack I’m planning on mounting a trolling motor to my kayak looking on Amazon at T track and bolts and saw that there are different head sizes of Tbolts and also different sizes of Ttrack does it really matter will the boat come out if it’s not the right size?
