Yuriy Yurchuk sings Ah, Per Sempre from I Puritani

This is the most beautiful and promising baritone I have heard for many a year. He was singing the relatively minor role of Johann in the "Werther" I saw at the Royal Opera last Monday and my ears pricked up immediately he opened his mouth. He does everything right - his stance, his breathing, seamless legato, no extraneous tension in his neck, chest or cheek muscles and a beautifully even tone throughout his range. He might be Ukrainian but he is in the line of the great Italian baritones like Manuguerra, Zancanaro and back to Battistini.

И всё-таки, Юрий, у Вас скорее бас, нежели баритон. Моя уточнённая методика позволяет ещё более точно классифицировать голоса. Рупор у Вас по длине - басовый. И ВПФ, соответственно - тоже. Можете негодовать, сколько угодно. Но науку не обманешь.

I have to agree with ralphoperaphile - you are so passionate and your dramatic baritone carries beautifully. I have to think that you are singing in major opera houses around the world in major roles now. Please come to US. I like lyric baritones but there is something so masculine and potent about your voice.
