I'll take things that didn't happen for $500 Alex.
The Australian guy knew where a Spanish wreck was, correct. But he found an engraved 'postal stone'. A similar postal stone was found in Cape Town, South Africa, left by Portuguese Captain Cristovao de Mendonca 1524. There is also a very detailed map of Sydney Cove in The Los Angeles Library Vault. The map belonged to Mendonca. This rewrites Australian history. It wasn't just the Dutch, who came and left thinking the Indigenous were giants and the Chinese who regularly traded with the Indigenous. The Portuguese also came long before the British expedition and Cook 'discovered' Australia, who actually just mapped the east coast of Australia.

So legally Most treasures From wrecks are not yours. Under maritime law, and Most countries have a law about treasure, its either you can keep some of it, or it becomes state own because the original owner is dead, or you get taxes part of its worth or etc. Look them up before you go treasure hunting.

If this is about Alan Robinson, he liked to use explosives and killed himself when he was in prison awaiting trial for trying to kill his ex-wife. He was a hero to plenty of people that don’t care about anything or anyone in pursuit of feeding their own greed. This guy’s take, if we’re talking about the same person, must be after believing every word that came out of his mouth like a rube.

Yes I knew Alan Robinson in Dampier WA and also had a couple of beers with him in Perth.
You could write a book on this guy.
He was a stocky solid guy and was also charged in Perth WA for having an illegal weapon as in a spear gun with an explosive power head he was using to shoot a troublesome shark in Perths Swan River. Hw ended up committing suicide in a Melbourne Gaol I think.

Marine salvage used to be legal before the commies of the UN "UNESCO" colluded with other commies to steal what they want! Why isn't Spain all over this? Just like when, Obama helped steal 500,000 sliver coins from Odessey Marine corporation and hand them over to Spain?

Reminds me of the ship The Odessey. That found a gold shipment that went down during the Napoleonic wars off of Spain. They found the gold/ silver coins, and cataloged everything only to fight in court with the Spanish government over ownership. The Spaniards won. It was MILLIONS in coins.

So I am a JRE fan, but have spent countless hours trying to research this story and have reached the conclusion the muppet Rogan is talking with is completely full of bullshit.

There has been no documented discovery of shipwrecks in Western Australia bearing any resemblance to this story. The muppet in this clip fabricating the claim says the coins are on display in the WA Museum. I have gone through not only WA media clips for the last few decades to find reference to the story, I have also reviewed the entire WA Museum shipwreck catalogue to try and find the ship in question. I have even gone through the entire WA Museum's numismatic (coin) catalogue of over 16,000 coins to find substance to this story.

There has only been 1 shipwreck found in Western Australia in the last 20 years that contained coins of any nature. The Correio da Azia, and that discovery was found by a commercial salvage company. Every other wreck, discovered by either private individuals, commercial companies, or the WA government largely occurred before 1970. Every other wreck, discovered by either private individuals, commercial companies, or the WA government occurred before 1970, and none of those wrecks either correlate to his claims.

The following I have directly pulled from the WA Museum's catalogue of records (publicly available online) to show all of the wrecks, and their salvaged findings, that have occurred in Western Australia.

Batavia - Found in 1963 be private individuals. Extensively looted before salvage overtaken by WA government.
Vergulde Draak - Found in 1963 by private individuals. Extensively looted before salvage overtaken by WA Government. 5214 silver coins of various value found.
Zuiddorp - Found in 1927, reported to authorities in 1941. 1964 was the first attempt to salvage, successful in 1967. Undertaken between private individuals then overtaken by WA Government. 2321 silver coins of various value found so far.
Correio da Azia - Found in 2004 by the company Fugro Survey and support by WA Government. 1163 silver coins of various value found and on display.
Rapid - Largely was immediately salvaged after it sank in 1813. Remainder of wreck was salvaged by WA Department of Maritime Archaeology in 1979. 19,000 silver coins of various value foundfound.
Zeewijk - Wreck found by WA Government in 1968. Only copper coins found - 34 of them.

I'm sure no one will read this comment. But misinformation is so frequent these days it doesn't hurt to take some time and look into the BS claims being peddled by bogus muppets.

So, you're telling me, if I find historically rare gold or artifact made of gold, instead of telling the government I should melt it and sell it piece by piece?

Imagine after hearing this, Australian government in 100 years would ask themselves, hmm, apparently, we have not discovered or found any historical gold coins in 100 years, why is that?
Very big brain of them shooting an arrow into their own foot but this time, it would take time to make them realize what they have done
