Excuse me I'm not English speaker and I don't understand very well. Tour writs it's 16 three quarter? How many it's in cm?
Ответитьthey're like $ 150 now and you cant wind the watch and it has plastic gears in places.
$30 chinese watches keep good time and they're all metal and mechanical winding.
Your videos convinced me to get the Blue one first. Six months later I got the cream version. Sometimes People ask me if I'm wearing a Breitling!! ... doesn't get much better than that. As much as I tried the original straps, I've got one on a NATO, and one on a distressed butterscotch alligator. I smeared black nail polish in calculated areas. Its Fantastic. Thanks again Mark!!
ОтветитьNo issue on sizes as it is the classic size for wrist watch for men..Rolex datejust also having 36 mm which looks more classic n better looking than the 41 mm model. I'm having dive watches of MM300 sbdx001, King Turtle, Willard, Panerai , Tag Heuer Aquaracer 43mm and a number of giant Gshocks. All these watches are 43 to 45mm and I still love wearing this 37 snk809! Looks great!
ОтветитьI have the 807 (blue) on a distressed brown leather strap. I spent 3 weeks touring France with it recently. It was great. Just a very enjoyable, reliable small watch, rugged, unflashy and yet cool. Mine keeps good time (about 4 secs a day), so I didn't need to adjust the time at all on my trip.
ОтветитьAbsolutely love my 809. Polished it up and slapped a leather strap on it. Everyday driver!
ОтветитьI just got a seiko 5 SNKE49K1. What if the power reserve (which should be about 40 hrs.) is only about 20 hours? And I wear it all day, not sedentary, normal activity. Would that indicate something is wrong with the watch?
ОтветитьWhat is the best color in your opinion? I was confused in choosing the color
ОтветитьHow's the durability on these? I've had a Seiko 8T67-00G0 quartz chronograph for a few years and it's great but a bit chunky and heavy for my skinny wrists, something smaller and more unisex like this would really suit me better.
I don't need G-Shock levels of durability, but would this watch be able to stand up to a few dings against metal surfaces, motorcycle vibrations, festival moshpits, accidental drinks spillages etc.?
The only other mechanical watch I owned was a Vostok Amphibia which I think had some QC issues because I took it in a pool once and it got completely ruined. I don't swim anymore so don't need massive water resistance but just saying I'm a little paranoid about automatics now 😅
Id rather buy a seiko snk's rather than a gshock...gshock has advantages though..but a seiko5..would be a good investment..thats just me..
ОтветитьI got the black 809. Weird. It’s the most popular one and I love black. So I convinced myself that was the color for me. But that cream! Just looks so good. The second hand with the matching cream just really pops. Feels really unique to me. Might have to get it also.
Ответитьtwo years later, this watch is a bit harder to find, but still attainable for $100... for now. I'm glad I picked one up and I'm actually looking to get some of the other colors while I can still get them for a good price. It's a tremendous value for only $100. Kind of hard to believe
ОтветитьI've owned a SNK809 for a couple of years and I love it. It is considered a field watch but to me it looks a feels more like a hybrid between a field watch and a Flieger. Definitely a must own for Seiko and military watch lovers.
ОтветитьI bought one from you for myself and another for a friend around two years ago. I've also purchased an SNZ and three SKX's and a SARX057. And a quartz Seiko Flighty! They've all been ticking along just fine, but about 10 days ago the SNK suddenly started gaining about two minutes a day! And it wasn't dropped or subjected to any trauma. Any idea what could have happened?
I have it on a fine Horween leather strap from Popov Leather in British Columbia.
It's early 2022, and there's a lot of discussion on these watch channels about high-value, low-priced Fliegers from that offshore seller, but many of them are big, like 40mm plus with 50-ish mm lug-to-lug. That, to me, is too big for a "modern" Type B. I know the original Fliegers were 55mm, but nobody is going to actually wear a clock on his or wrist in 2022, right?
All that said, the SNKs are probably still the best modern interpretation of the 1940s Flieger. I'm not a licensed pilot, but I I logged many hours of flight with the US Navy before a vision issue forced me to choose another field. On every flight, my backup time piece was a US-made "Type A" of 37mm or thereabouts. It was not quite ideal, but the Type B outer ring in 5-second intervals (or 5-minute) fixes that. In the cockpit, to time a turn or other maneuver in IFR conditions, this Type B design is perfect, and so is this size. Choose your color, and buy an SNK80X while you still can. Or buy a bigger one. But add a Type B to your watch box.
Old or Classic?
ОтветитьI bought SNK809K2. What it is? I guess K2 is place of made. Its accuracy is +6 second/24 h.
ОтветитьDon't underestimate the watch, it has Intensive feeling
ОтветитьHad the 805 (green)for 2 years now and yup, if you are seriously considering these just buy one now. It will get scratched up, but that kinda adds character honestly. Switch to a nicer strap. Such a banger, still wear it a lot despite now having a few higher-spec pieces. Green 805 on brown leather, allllll day urrrrr day
ОтветитьTried to get on your website to order one.I guess I'm too dumb.If it doesn't have tits or handlebars, I'm lost.
ОтветитьThe SNK809 dial, with the hour markings on the smaller diameter inner ring and the minute markings on the larger diameter outer ring made so much sense, given that the hour hand is shorter and the minute hand is longer.
So why did Seiko depart from this excellent arrangement with the SNZG15, merely because the case size was increased? Why not retain the SNK809s perfectly sensible dial layout?
which color in real looks better?
ОтветитьGreetings from Manila. Great review! Will surely appreciate if you could do a review of the new Seiko SRPH27 with the 4R movement. More power.
ОтветитьWith a six inch wrist and being somebody that doesn't want to spend more than $150 on a watch. There really isn't anything else out there at the moment. Easily my favorite and best fitting watch.
Ответитьdo any of these have the illuminating dial ??
ОтветитьThe SNK809 was my first mechanical watch too! I remember buying it off eBay from some seller in Asia. The crystal is scratched as heck, and I dropped it onto a hard floor once. The watch rotor even came loose at one point, so I had to open the back to tighten the screw. Through all that, it's still ticking :)
ОтветитьToo small
ОтветитьFocus focus focus focus…
Ответитьlove your shop and channel, but snk809 is a garbage, it's power reserve in reality is about 20-30 hours and no hand wind. It's unusable unless you wear it every day and you have a job which requires a lot of movement.
ОтветитьMy black and green varients still keep on ticking... Toyota Corolla of watches 😂👍
ОтветитьBeautiful pieces here. Just ordered the tan Seiko SNK and the Orient 22-Jewel Automatic Navy Green flight watch from you guys... can't wait to get my hands on 'em! Keep posting these great videos and selling outstanding watches!
ОтветитьIn regards to the 30m water resistance, have people tested these to see if the claim is false? 90-feet is FUCKING DEEP and that's a lot of pressure down there. No way in hell a swimming pool or shower is going to come CLOSE to that. Why are people so concerned about getting them wet with a 30m WR rating?
ОтветитьWish it was lik 9 or 9.5mm thick :/
ОтветитьI ordered the same Seiko 5 Military Black Dial Automatic Watch with Black Canvas Strap from your site a month ago for my birthday (which is May 19), I got it yesterday and I love it. Thank you so much! :)
ОтветитьIt is only at 3Bars meaning splash resistant only, please correct me and explain this watch to me, uwu
ОтветитьExcept of course it no longer is the best field watch at any price....
Because the islander field watch absolutely SMOKES it in every single way..
And pretty much every other field watch as well.
Marc,
I wanted to get your take on the face and hands. Did I miss it?
I've had mine for three years. To quote an olde line: takes a licking and keeps on ticking. All it needs is a new band. I highly recommend this watch especially to fngs.
ОтветитьI never realized how readable this dial was until I owned watches that made it harder to actually tell the time (I'm looking at you, Cocktail Time!). I owned an SNK809 for almost a year and sold it because at the time, I thought I had moved on from the 7S26 onto better, greater things and thought this dial was too busy. This is a mostly a Type B Flieger dial, which I also didn't realize at the time and now I'm looking at getting a Type B Flieger watch so I can easily tell time! Bah, I think it's time to buy one of these again because I really like being able to tell time quickly. Go figure. Nothing makes sense in watch ownership.
ОтветитьHI , NICE VIDEO ! WHAT YEAR DID THIS SNK SERIES COME OUT ? THANK YOU !
ОтветитьI wish they had overdistributed the SXK013...
ОтветитьGotta say the 803 with the beige dial has a certain classical and timeless elegance about it...
Especially when paired with brown leather straps! Almost dressy even!
Where is the snkm95 in the pic
ОтветитьI gucking loved the black 1. But it broke on me after three days. No amount of winding would make it work again. Since then I've been bought citizen. And my gf bought me a solar Seiko. Someday ill buy a mechanical. . .
ОтветитьI hope Seiko keeps making these, I love them. Perhaps you know: I'm trying to find out whether the snk80x watches are military-STYLE watches, or whether they actually are (or were) standard military equipment. I'm also trying to find out whether anybody, in any line of work, actually needs to wear a watch any more. I know there are military guys who wear these and SAY that it's more than a fashion statement, but then, people SAY all sorts of things. I'd think that if a military watch was actually necessary today, the G-Shock would be the go-to long before anything mechanical.
Ответитьi resent that these arent 100m water resistant, the whole point of an automatic field watch is that its an edc that will never die (due to battery or what have you). how does this fucking thing not have better water resistance which is available on similarly price pointed seikos with shittier, less legible dials, and bigger cases, JUST DO IT FOR THIS MODEL,
it gets like 90 percent of the way there and then flubs
Once the stock of nearly free movements is gone, it will cost enthusiasts $400 just to service one. I got my first one for $50. I agree with you, by failing to keep control of the market and by making far too many, Sieko messed things up big time. I mean, if it was $350 and there was no way to get one except by paying $350, we would all appreciate them a lot more. Sieko are very good indeed, but I think they should send their marketing people on a course in how not to mess up a premium brand. Lorus, great idea, except that they then go off competing with their own down market brand (which is actually just as good as Sieko).
ОтветитьMy dad got me the tan watch for Christmas cause he watched it and I said I loved it and he got it I thinks it’s amazing
Ответитьgateway drug for automatic watches..got the 803
ОтветитьI just bought one of these from your store for my mom. She's been needing a watch. Hope she likes it.
Ответить
