Half-assed Styx.
Bring back Dennis DeYoung!
might be my favorite song by them
ОтветитьI love how Dennis deyoung’s writing still holds up I love that song. Wish tommy never forced Dennis out
ОтветитьSaw them in a stadium tour for grand allusion tour then saw them again years later at a small more personal venue much better at the the smaller one you could really hear the perfection of there music excellent show
ОтветитьI love it....give me the title of the DVD please thanks
ОтветитьBeautiful music! The 70’s!
ОтветитьSTXy music is alot like Pink Floyd with this song
ОтветитьIt's 6 o'clock
ОтветитьNice try, but a far cry from the master showman himself, Dennis Deyoung.
ОтветитьBrings back Better times♥️
ОтветитьI have to say. I’ve seen every band I think now. Many of the largest and best in the seventies. But I feel like a fool now. I think this band could have changed my destiny if I had discovered them and THEir full albums! In the seventies. Well I hope it’s not too late.
ОтветитьThe 15 year old boy listening to Aku Aku by Styx on headphones in his room was me. For me, I was the 15 year old kid was listening to Paradise Theater on headphones in my room. Of course, I had listened to every Styx album since Grand Illusion on headphones in my room.
Ответитьjust an FYI, D. DeYoungs EGO forced him out. He wanted the band to go in his idea of direction, allads and show, and EVERYBODY else want to steer toward and keep with the ROCK side of things. He was NOT a TEAM player by all accounts I can find. It would have been very nice if he were still with STYX, However they have grown into or morphed, CHRYSILAS (ed), into a band of their own since 1998.
Just my opinion though so take it as you will.
What Vocals , Typical STYX , Kudo's , and , Thanks Guys for decades of Awesomeness ! Jackie
ОтветитьTodd is just an off the charts incredible drummer
ОтветитьLiving. American. Legends. There's nothing more to say. Long may they wave!
Ответить❤🎼🎸STYX BEAUTIFUL
ОтветитьOne of the most creative and musically solid bands ever to come out of the 70's. Thier music is magical, and talent amongst them unsurpassed.
ОтветитьDeYoung had his own style, I didn't think there could be anyone to replace him with that would really work right - but this guy is really good. Such a talented and underrated band.
ОтветитьLong life STYK... and Tommy Shaw...magnific voice ¡ guitar player
Carismatic...beautiful blue eyes..
Bravo ¡
I still prefer Dennis Deyoung's version of this song.
ОтветитьThis was recorded in Memphis, TN. at The Orpheum. I kick myself in the ass for not going.
ОтветитьTommy Shaw is a legend
ОтветитьMy favorite Styx song(s), but regretfully isn't in their playlist in concert anymore, at least not the last few times I've seen them.
ОтветитьTommy is a better musician period
ОтветитьExecuted perfectly. Todd on the drums, he is one of the greatest drummers of all time. Tommy Shaw is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. The whole band is just epic.
Ответитьdeyoungs music his lyrics bring back deyoung
ОтветитьI swear they're better now than when the album came out.. what a great legendary band..
ОтветитьFirst, Pieces of Eight may be the most underrated rock album of all time. Second, this video clip has two great songs. Pieces of Eight is just so typical Styx, in the form of Equinox, Grand Illusion, and Paradise Theatre. It is so Dennis DeYoung. But Aku Aku, that is something special. It is like a Pink Floyd song. I would love a 10 minute extended version. It is so beautiful.
Ответитьoutstanding
ОтветитьHOF
ОтветитьAs great Grand Illusion is, this is my favorite. I try not to compare but the writing is superior on PO8.
ОтветитьLove styx.
ОтветитьI love the current stir line up go to see them every chance I get
ОтветитьI was in high school, all us stoners loved this stuff, though Dennis does it much better. To bad they all count not get along. Most of the riff was between Tommy and Dennis. James though disappointed me as he chose to side with Tommy. So in the end their all at fault in someway towards not staying together. Don't believe all the garbage spread about Dennis. He never voted Tommy out even after he left several times and him coming back as his stuff sucked.
ОтветитьFor not being a "Hair Band" they all have great hair. Man they are good! Such a great tune, so well played live.
ОтветитьThis is my favorite video ever! Watched it over & over & over…
ОтветитьWow, Gowan butchers DeYoung's vocals....They need Dennis back.
ОтветитьJust Fantastic
ОтветитьGood Lord this makes me miss DDY so much. Great job to Lawrence though. Tommy and JY always top notch! Who is that drummer? New to the band? JK, Todd, you're amazing! First saw you on the RTP tour. Ricky great on bass as well and vocals! Stellar performance guys
ОтветитьAlways loved them , my whole life everything up to Mr Roboto, but part of my young life
ОтветитьJy can play guitar too just a little lol
ОтветитьWow, just saw this. They sound amazing.
ОтветитьVousle Styx Vous croyez au seigneur Jésus vous êtes des bon chrétien je suis heureux d’apprendre ça Canada vous aiment
ОтветитьShould give credit to Larry Gowan in the title. He is the best possible DDY replacement. Pieces of eight could easily be a Gowan song.
Ответитьsorry Dennis DeYoung voice is better than Gowans
ОтветитьLawrence Gowan has been with Styx for 25 years now. He's very talented. ☮️
ОтветитьAfter all these years I am just realizing what a fabulous composition this is.
ОтветитьBeautiful performance!!!❤❤❤
