The State Law Office, under the leadership of Attorney General Justin B Muturi, continues to make significant strides towards Kenya's ambitious goal of planting 15 billion trees. In the latest monthly tree planting exercise, the team has successfully planted 22,500 trees, marking a noteworthy contribution to environmental conservation efforts.
Attorney General Muturi expressed his gratitude, stating, "We have planted 22,500 trees so far. Thank you, State Law Office, for the good work. We want to be proud after three years, according to the Kenya Forest Service officer, who has said it will take that long for the trees to grow."
The tree planting initiative is scheduled to continue with the next event planned for the second Monday, August 12th. This ongoing effort draws inspiration from the late President Mwai Kibaki's environmental legacy, with a commitment to emulate his dedication to greening Kenya.
Addressing the concerns of the GenZ population, who have recently demonstrated against the finance bill, Attorney General Muturi acknowledged their voices. "We hear what the GenZ are saying, and we take it very seriously. Whether you are leaderless or party-less, we hear you and we will take it into account. Just give us time, and we will make changes that will benefit you as the GenZ."
Reiterating the urgency of environmental stewardship, the Solicitor General emphasized, "We don't have any other country to turn to." This statement underscores the importance of collective action in safeguarding Kenya's natural resources for future generations.
