This is the worst rule ever made

Just change the touchback to the 35 if it goes through the endzone, 25 if a player catches and takes a knee in the endzone, and at the 20 if it bounces in play then goes into the endzone, and keep the other old rules like where players line up. The onside kick should always be in play not something stupid that you declare you are doing.

The Nfl should've gone in a similar direction to rugby and just kept the old kickoff format but penalize touchbacks by taking the ball to the halfway line where the ball is kicked out of bounds from. In Rugby it stops players intentionally kicking the ball dead on kickoff ans you are heavily penalised for it and forces the kicker to be more skilled and tactical in where he chooses to place the ball.

Why even kickoff after scoring? 99% of kicks go to the end zone. Just start every team at the 20yrd after a score, start of game or half.
