ОтветитьHi Plasmo, great videos, quick question on this Tamiya wash, I only have X20A thinners which I think is for acrylic, not oil based, what other thinner/remover can you use. I am washing over Aqual Gloss II from Alclad ?
ОтветитьNice tutorial !
ОтветитьExcellent transaction into an awesome finish. my to be clear question is finish your model, add decals and a couple of coats of clear before you start the panel lines. is this about correct. Thanks Gary
ОтветитьThank you for all the work in letting us beneift on your experience an skill.
I found your channel in last december - scince than my long time sleep of modelling endet^^.
Even now i finaly found this video and maybe now i finally understand one of my biggest problems - remove excess wash.
Thank you so much .

Can I use tamiya X-20 instead of mig thinner?
ОтветитьThank you for your tutorials. They are to the point, very informative and without stuff that doesn’t matter.
ОтветитьGreat tips. Hello from California
ОтветитьThank you..covid19 has lit my fire on modeling and i have the tamiya wash great stuff but havent applied turpentine or thinner after using it, because of fear that the previous layer of acrylic paint and enamel too could get destroyed???..just purchasd some oils so im excited about learning how to implore them also..very informative i subscribed
ОтветитьHi! I have a problem, model cover by Vallejo glass acrilic varnish, then do oil wash with MIG tinner (like on video). When trying wipe it out, varnish damaged :( it's get sticking and remove with paint. What it can be?
ОтветитьThanks for all the tips You gave us
They are very helpful
I owe you much
Thanks so much for the tips on using oil washes, David. Letting the napkin soak up all the oil is a good move.
ОтветитьCan i use tamiya thinner..?
ОтветитьNice one. Well presented.
ОтветитьExcellent instructional video start to finish and some fantastic modeling. Thank you!
ОтветитьPLASMO, this is a wonderful tutorial. Thank you for doing this and sharing your skills.
Ответитьwhat kind of paint are you using? when I use the wash, it just acts like thinner and wipes the paint off. Im using testors and model master paints. Any help would be appreciated!
ОтветитьHi David, that is a great video. I have question on Oil paint wash. I am using Vallejo water based paint, with Vallejo gloss vanish on. I would like to use Abteilung 502 oil paint, do you know what is the best thinner (not too strong)to use and not to cause any concern on break through Vallejo paint ? I see you use MIG thinner for wash, is there any concern on AV paint ? Alternatively can I use zippo fluid or AK white spirit ? I think Abteilung paint work best with their own brand with AK/MIG product. and what is the best way to clean the excessive wash? dry or water damp paper or damp paper with the same thinner?
Thanks
hey, can i wipe tamiya panel liner with odourless thinner made for oils? like with Abteilung Odourless lhinner for example?
ОтветитьWhat should I use to wash if my clear coat (vanish) is Mr Hobby aqueous based? Thanks
ОтветитьThanks for sharing! IMHO black panel lines are too stark on most models and do not look realistic... the panel lines should be a darker version of the surface color...
ОтветитьWatercolor and guaches? And then spray transparent, what do you think?
ОтветитьMuch better then using oil paints for washing.
ОтветитьEvery wash and thinner I've used for panel line washes messes up my gloss clear coat by either staining it or dissolving it. I use Mr. Color 46 gloss clear. What type of wash and thinner do you recommend to use that won't ruin Mr. Color 46 clear coat?
ОтветитьHello David! I have a question about oil paints and washes based on them.
I have come across models where these techniques were used and they were greasy in touch, even though it had been weeks since they were completed. Several of my friends have also encountered the problem that the satin/matt varnish applied at the end of the work cracked where it came in contact with the oil paint (even if they applied it after few days of drying time). I paint mostly miniatures for gaming purpose, sometimes something for dioramas and have never used oil paints before. I would like to expand my workshop with them. However, I'm afraid to have similar experiences I mentioned above. What could be the reason for such greasy feel and cracking of the paint applied on oil paint? How to prevent this from happening? Have your models also become greasy to the touch after years or do you not have this problem. Can oil paint react with paints applied previously? Please help :-)
thank you for your great content and all your videos , i learned a lot from you , as for the oil washing technique , i give a flat varniche coat after oil washing and towel rubbing so i dont have to wait for 2 or 3 days till the oil dries , is it wrong ? may it cause any damage or chipping in the future ?
ОтветитьThis is great... thank you
ОтветитьGood afternoon. Putting the Oil on a napkin so that it has less oil.... I have a question... how long do I have to let the oil penetrate the napkin to be able to use it?
ОтветитьCool video thank you for making it
ОтветитьThank you for another great video. I am new to using washes and the points you made about Tamiya vs oil will save me from ruining a finish.
Ответитьblablablaaaa, hintergrundmusik hättest du dir sparen können---vid ist total nervig und nichtssagend, alles schon bekannt, da haben wir dich nicht noch gebraucht. etwas für dummies.
ОтветитьHow does it work with a model painted silver
ОтветитьZdravím,chci se optat zda na bojovou techniku používáte wash originální výroby nebo domácí? A zda máte nějaký osvědčený "recept" na výrobu domácího washe. Díky Martin
ОтветитьThanks David. Your experience is much appreciated.
ОтветитьIt's very generous of you to share your techniques.
ОтветитьDave, how much time you give tamiya to dry?
ОтветитьThank u so much! Ur movies help every time!)
ОтветитьHow long does the wash have to stay on the kit before you rub it off again? THX Al
ОтветитьCan you make a video when tell us what to buy and how to use it for universal weathering on models?
ОтветитьI knew I'd seen this video before. Thank you Mr. Damek. This is very helpful as usual.
ОтветитьLearn so much since I started during COVID, GOD Bless you PLASMO 💪 🙏🏽
ОтветитьVery good instructional video. I like how you show using both oils, for surfaces, and Tamiya enamel wash for details. Thanks. I learned my lesson using acrylic washes, the hard way. No ability to go back in and refine them, without damaging your base.
ОтветитьI'm just curious. The Tamiya, can be used as a pin, or capillary panel line wash. But when you used oil, you did a 'sludge' wash. Can oils, if really thinned, be used like Tamiya enamel washes? To do details and panel lines?
Ответить
