According to the RATP website, for a trip from CDG to Europe station where our hotel is, the cost is about 13,55 Euros per person so for a family of 4, that is about the same as the fare for a taxi. The trip however is scheduled to take 56 mins. When you mentioned a taxi may take up to 2 - 3 hours depending on traffic, that is concerning. Do the taxis also charge extra for time besides a flat rate of 55 Euros from CDG to Paris city center ? Thank you. I am really enjoying your videos. Merci beaucoup Les Frenchies !

Once I purchase the RER ticket and take the RER B train, do I need to buy another ticket to travel in metro?

I have our routing from CDG all planned out and I watched a video that showed the underground passageway between Saint-Michel - Notre-Dame to Cluny La Sorbonne on line 10, which is the line we will be taking to get to our Airbnb, direction Boulogne Pont de Saint-Cloud. Good tips. As a rail geek, the RER is my favorite way to get to CDG. However, my wife is not nearly as enamored with trains as I am, especially when dragging our luggage to and from a flight! So we are planning for an Uber to and from the airport this summer. It certainly is more convenient to be dropped off at the front door,but it is pricey!

The one exception I would note would be time of day. I took the RER B south to head to Orly once and it was during morning rush. I literally have never been so packed in a train as that day. Literally nose an inch from someone’s back. I imagine the RER north through the city was just as bad. Not sure what highway traffic is like that time of day, but, with luggage that was not a pleasant experience that I want to repeat.

A question for you. I arrive in Paris (CDG) at 8pm. By the time I clear customs & collect baggage, it will easily be 9-10pm. Would you recommend still taking the train at that time of night?

Thank you for this, travelling alone from Italy in March and preparing for the trip and was wondering how to get from CDG to my hotel near to Eiffel tower. This makes it a lot easier and the visuals are very supportive.

Is there an option to purchase a day pass/round trip tkt from cdg machines or attendants, that gives me access to RER+metro for 24 hrs any direction? This is a very good video, but unlike most people I would not recommend the RER during the high season. In my multiple experiences, it is unreliable, absolutely packed, and malfunctions are frequent. And if you are coming in on a warm day, do not expect air conditioning, you will be jet-lagged and may need to stand for at least an hour because there may not be a seat until you reach Gard du Nord or possibly Saint Michel Notre Dame. For a first time, it’s an absolute no. If you are in the off-season and travel lightly then you will be fine.
