This is a beautiful performance. Van Morrison brings out a very rare smile from Sinead O'Connor. How wonderful is that?

always been a a van fan but he's off his head here.. idiotic.. never been a sinnead fan but she's gorgeous with hair and sings nicely 🇬🇧

First: Letterman show had outstanding musical guests. A true treasure. Van M is being an arse here, despite his great vocal skills. Sinead went with it and was the classier, by far. She has the voice, truly, of an angel. The gifted suffer for their gifts, as she did. I wish I could time travel and try and save her.

Every one of these musicians is playing their own version of this song, at once. Brilliant.

Van spoilt this, I could possibly be his biggest fan, but this was terrible, still in his defence its his song so he can do what he wants with it, Sounds like this was thrown together with little thought or practice, with a little thought and effort it might of been memorable and for the right reasons.

WTF Van? it's like he was trying to sabotage his own song. what a stupid rendition.

Second time I've seen Van trashed on Letterman.

Oh what a shame he had a chance to sing this song properly with this wonderful lady, it could have been even better.

No Irish person ever hated Sinead. Just the media and Lorne Micheals. The Irish musicians knew what she was about and why. In the end, she freed the women of Ireland and I just wish she was here to receive the thanks she deserves. Good BYE any church running anything in Ireland.
