Well done. When the pandemic is over, I’ll also make a MiZhong series that explains how MiZhong Quan is 80% ShuaiJiao as well.
ОтветитьI loved it! Are you learning Bokh from Lavell Marshall? If so cool! If not, maybe you should check him out and join us when be does his seminars from Inner Mongolia!
ОтветитьDoing great work, sir! Thanks for sharing your insights! 👍🏼
ОтветитьVery nice insights! I live in Brazil and practice Mantis Kung Fu with Sifu Samuel Mendonça. We learned the Gōnglì Quán when great master Brendan Lai lived here with us. Some movements are a little different (maybe I'm a litte rust!) but I like the way you do the set. We have a group here that would like to talk with you some day! Exchange experiences! Thank you for the video and for the insights.
Ответитьvery cool, we do "small circular fist" which is very similar to gongliquan, I noticed many of the grappling applications in there similar to the ones you showed, and got some new ideas from you here. thanks!
ОтветитьHahaha this is really good stuff dude! Something to note that while gongli does roughly translate to power training skill, I don't think it was ever supposed to mean "you use this form to build strength" in the way you'd do weightlifting, and the connotation is much closer to "external strength based technique." Your applications look absolutely spot on to me.
ОтветитьBEAUTIFUL!!!!! Everything just flows.....
ОтветитьFantastic stuff, please make more! Love your openness to being wrong and thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьThis is really great! Loved your analysis and explanation.
ОтветитьGong li quan definitely has a lot of combat applications. My master and I used to break down the applications all the time. San huan tao yue is a very visible swinging technique but it is also used in "Kao" and bumping techniques similar to what you see in bajiquan. Good breakdown, highly appreciate it.
ОтветитьWhen a fist becomes a grip, the lightbulbs light up!
ОтветитьVery good and accurate analysis Vincent. But remember in traditional Chinese martial arts each movement contains 4 possible options, Ti, Da, Shuai, Na. So, while your Shuai Jiao applications are completely valid, there are always 3 other possibilities as well, each depending on many variables in any given situation which cannot be anticipated. And you did mention that your comments. Keep up the good work.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing 3.52... Its fist under the elbow for tai chi. (take down)
ОтветитьAmazing video, thank you. I finally realized that 得合 is not some random Chinese dialect but "hook" (degee) in Mongolian. Would you please spell the Mongolian uchimata and other bökh techniques you mentioned so I can google them?
ОтветитьSeeing this video was awesome! A few years back I was demonstrating one of my Jow Ga forms and a friend of mine commented it looked like 2 minutes of various throwing techniques. Nowadays I find training it as a wrestling form has proven the moves to be far more effective than if I treated it as a “kick-punch-block” form. Though the idea is usually met with skepticism since its “not what our Sifus taught us”.
ОтветитьGreat work, totally agree
Fantastic!
ОтветитьWhat about the 'passive hand' especially with those 'one hand throws' like shou bie and cau/khau/kau/cow/? . Sry if this is a bit confusing I am from a taekwondo background (and judo etc) and have done a lot of research in karate kata etc and in those forms the 'passive hand ' is always thaught as either clearing the path or pulling sb to you...
ОтветитьThank you, first time i have seen a combat breakdown.
ОтветитьGreat, I’ve only discovered your channel recently, but I really like what you do. I come from a Bajiquan and Chen Taijiquan background (and a little bit of Shanxi Xingyiquan) and your interpretations correspond a lot with classical applications within these styles.
Ответитьgreat compilation!
ОтветитьWhat you proposed make so much sense. In the past I had no experience with grappling arts and thought many forms in northern Chinese martial arts such as Gongliquan seems impractical. Now that I have some experience with grappling/throwing arts and with the proposal in your video, Gongliquan makes more sense to me now.
Ответить武术加跤,越摔越高
Martial arts plus wrestling, the more you throw the better you get.
Well applied positions. Super insightful
ОтветитьReally good video! Excellent analysis 👊
ОтветитьThank you! No distinctions between hitting, checking, entering the opponents zones and grabbing or throwing. Tao lu shows multiple options.
ОтветитьI love it on point.
ОтветитьI would like to know about those are the nine forms that you spoke of,from the jig wu associated 😊
ОтветитьThank you for your Insightful Breakdown.
ОтветитьFascinating
ОтветитьNice shot thx for sharing 😊
ОтветитьThank you brother, I came away with something, excellent. Thank you for sharing.
ОтветитьBrilliant and correct🎉
ОтветитьReally amazing !!! good video !! Excellent !!
ОтветитьВ полный кувшин не налить воды.
При желании даже в балете можно увидеть борьбу, опустошите сознание
Excelent content! Your interpetations completely agree to which I have learned over several years of practice under many masters as well. Please keep your great work!!
ОтветитьThe best application that I've ever seen for this form! Fantastic!
ОтветитьI've been practising Gongli Quan myself for decades. I have reached some of the same conclusions regarding applications. I commend you for your insight and understanding of the form. It's great to see that are practisioners, who aren't mislead by preformance wushu but have actual fighting skills based on kungfu.
ОтветитьEnjoyed this interpretation!!❤😊
ОтветитьAwesome!
ОтветитьVery interesting 👏👏👏
ОтветитьExtremely helpful, many thanks. Do you have any links for jeet kune ( kun nek kune ). This is another chin wu form im trying to break down. This video was massively helpful for me
ОтветитьA true scholar. Thank you for your contribution.
ОтветитьSome of that is very like hung kuen, there is always meaning hidden in forms.the sun tai chi that I do has a throw from tiger crane. Its obvious to me but neither trainsit as a throw. That i know of.
